Already ripped!

Drakken Jan 9, 2007 10:47 PM

World Soccer Winning Eleven 7 International ripped. It should have the same music as the requested Pro Evo Soccer 3, since it's the equivalent North American release.

It can be gotten from my ripping thread.

Yeah I found it in your topic, very cool. But I'm a total noob with download from FTP, how do I download the files? Could you send me a PM?

This thread has all you need ~

Ok guys, thanks for the help. I can't wait to listen some of the music from the classics I've played :).

Rimo Jan 10, 2007 02:00 PM

Here's two more I'm looking for:

- Frogger Beyond
- Circus Maximus

Both were composed by Big Idea Music and are avaible for the PS2 and other systems.

Audiophile Jan 12, 2007 03:30 PM

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube and Wii. I'm not sure if the composition was a collaboration or not, but the music is fucking awesome.

SuperSonic Jan 14, 2007 02:54 PM

Usually Zelda games come out with soundtracks, but so far I haven't heard anything about it yet. More discussion about Twilight Princess music can be found here. http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/au...ncess-ost.html

I'm very interested in a rip of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream," the adventure game based on the award-winning novella. I'd love to rip it myself, but only have access to a PC version, since the Macintosh port is rare and expensive. I was able to find the music files on the disc, but they're in an unknown format that I haven't been able to decompile. I'd be happy to provide the music files, of course.

The reason that I'm so interested is that the music was composed by John Ottman, who later became a famous film composer with credits like "The Usual Suspects," "X2," and "Superman Returns" to his name.

THE POWER OF WATER Jan 14, 2007 05:34 PM

Oh man, I was actually looking for the music for IHNMaIMS a little while ago. Nice. :D

What I've seen about the music was that it's MIDI, so I don't know what's with the unknown format. :( Ottman's page on the game has a couple of MP3'd samples to tide you over if you haven't seen it already.

Methinks that the MIDIs are inside the unknown format file; I was hoping to find actual MIDI files on the disc, since the music did sound MIDI-ish when I played the game. The filenames are MUSICGM.RES and MUSICFM.RES (about 300k apiece) if it helps convey what I meant.

Thanks for the link, though.

EDIT: Hell, the files are so tiny that I might as well post them--who knows what some enterprising sould might be able to do? I had to change the file extensions to .ZIP to upload them, but they're actually .RES files.

Killy Jan 14, 2007 06:13 PM

The files are in IFF-MIDI XMID format. I haven't got any proper MIDI playing software but I'm sure you could find something that supports .xmi files if you google for it.

Yep, I used Extractor and extracted the midis from the two sets, I've added an attachment. They seem to be the same songs but slightly different, perhaps GM stand for General MIDI? Anyway Winamp should be able to play the files, at least if you go into the midi plugin settings and make sure XMI is selected as a supported file format.

Rimo Jan 14, 2007 06:56 PM

Indeed, GM stands for General MIDI. FM is for Frequency Modulation, if I'm right. If you are to record the music from a sound font, use the GM files.

orion_mk3 Jan 14, 2007 06:57 PM

Man, that's great. Thanks!

Of course, I'll never be able to hear the music, since there is apparently no player or converter that supports XMI for OS X, but at least someone will.

Pyocola Jan 14, 2007 07:05 PM

If you have a player that plays .mid you could try to rename the files to that, at least the plugin used in Winamp recognized the files that way.

American McGee's Alice has been ripped! Don't know who requested it though.

Drakken Jan 15, 2007 05:30 PM

orion, I recently did a bunch of messing around with MIDIs, since I was searching for music from old DOS games. I remember coming across xmids, but I'm not sure if I was able to play them. I'm visiting family right now, but I'll look into it when I get home (in the next couple days).

eriol33 Jan 17, 2007 01:13 AM

btw, maybe this could be added to list as well, someone at ffshrine has uploaded DQ Joker, dont know whether it's an official OST or gamerip. I havent downloaded it so I couldnt say anything yet.

DQ Joker

DQ Joker

That'd be a (mislabeled...) gamerip, and a small one at that. Due to limited bandwidth ATM, I'd like to wait for somebody to inform me if it's a quality, complete rip worth downloading. I'm skeptical about this one.

Killy Jan 17, 2007 08:20 AM

What's the point in posting the links from FFShrine when we rained shit down on them for hotlinking from our forums? Come on people, think.

eriol33 Jan 17, 2007 10:03 AM

because well, nobody in GFF rip it, and I dont think the ripper is part of these hardcore leechers. Let's see it in more positive way.:)

Anyway, the quality of the rip is good enough for me even though it's untagged, but to be honest, musically it's not really interesting. There are some old DQ tunes, some are new but I dont really enjoy it. :(

Killy Jan 17, 2007 11:59 AM

Well, nobody requested it either, but I guess you're right, better to look at it from a positive viewpoint.

Should I credit this rip to you then? :)
