I chose the cheapest Kingston 2gb I could find because speed isn't much of an issue to me.
So ~ $37, which is pretty cheap over here. Done deal.

My TV adventure was a whole other story though, but I think I found what I've been looking for.
- I wanted HD, since yeah... future.
- I decided for 32" so distance won't be an issue.
- I wanted none of the contrast issues on most LCD's.

I found out that Philips and Samsung has made a CRT alternative. <3 CRT for all of the obvious reasons.
The Philips 32PW9551 is the better of the two, and is labeled "HD prepared" which means absolutely dick, but the dot pitch and geometry is so fine that the resulting picture of a HD source (through the TV's HDMI port, yeah!), can can actually compete with the clarity and detail of some of the better HD-TV's out there.

Obvious cons: Big as hell (about 50cm deep). The picture will never be as fine as LCD ofcause, only damn close.

But the pros: The depth of CRT + only ~ $853.

I think it might have another product number than 32PW9551 outside of Europe, as most of the googles I get are German/French/Spanish.
But you can read a more in-depth test here, for all the things I have failed to say/understand.

The Xbox is the strongest current generation console. Following is the Gamecube, and PS2. If you knew anything about the specifications of the current generation (which clearly you don't) you wouldn't be talking shit right about now.

Elixer: Sorry man. Before I was never able to find out the specs of the Xbox processor, but with some extra digging I was able to see that you're correct. Either way though the Wii is still barely more then the Xbox1, that's not going to change.

... Which doesn't change the fact that Prey or Half Life 2 or whatever the fuck we're talking about should look as good or better on the Wii as it does on the X-Box.

In other news, Capcom's Resident Evil game for the Wii is reported to be a kind of "best-of" of the previous games. It is supposed to play like RE4. (moer infoez frm joystix)

I'm disappointed, but I guess I sort of expected it. Hopefully the immense success of the Wii will make Capcom change their mind, it certainly wouldn't be the first time they jumped ship.

well you're not taking into account archetectural differences. the wii's power-based processor running at nearly the same clock speed as the xbox's p3/celerized-derivative will probably be more efficient in some areas and less so in others.

also the gamecube's memory was insanely efficient with bandwidth and latency, and i can't see why the wii would forego this idea. i'm guessing that we're going to see a fairly fast machine due to lots of efficiency. the xbox360 and ps3 (moreso the ps3) are all about raw power.

.......this assumes the cpu is really 729mhz, which is made "believable" with the rumored specs since the gpu supposedly is running at 243mhz (243 "bus speed" * 3 multiplier like GCN would be 729). this really doesn't mean anything though since it could all be fake, etc.

even if nintendo doesn't release specs of the system, you know some site like anandtech will take it apart and try to find out anyway.

Man REWii looks disappointing, but i heard somewhere that it's purpose is to better connect RE4 to the rest of the serise, to help make way for RE5. I read that in one of the many articles pertaining to the Sept. 14th event.

I'll probably still buy it, cause i'm such a RE whore.

It's also to define the timeline of the Umbrella events a little more clearly, like you said, probably has to do with the story of RE5

BTW any way to get that image of Farcry Vengence to work again? I really am interested to see it. I can't imagine the official screens were from an anywhere near finished version of the game. Cause it seriously looks like N64. Gamecube could do waaaaaay better than that. If it is what it will look like, companies need to realize just because its not as fast as the other two systems does not mean they can cut quality in the graphics department. Because its not broadcasting in HD wii can still put out some decent graphics, though not quit as goos as the other two consoles, the graphics are not worse than gamecube. If companies start doing that, they are sealing the systems doom.

Outbreak made me cry. I had nightmares of the RE games going under after that. RE4 saved me though.
