Hmm... I do believe I'm talking about Gran Turismo Mobile. You know, the racing game by Polyphony that was supposed to support graphics nearly equivalent to GT3, with about 4 cars on screen? Yeah, the one that was announced at E3... That one.
I'm just asking what it is that makes you say Gran Turismo Mobile looks amazing, because Polyphony hasn't released a single hint at its graphics so far.

So i got mortal kombat unchained. It's loading sucks and inconquest mode the camera sucks hard. Other then that it's a pretty solid mk deception game for psp. Only problem is if every character is supposed to have 2 fatalities and a harakiri then what about frost blaze and jax? no where does it give there fatalities or harakiris.

Does anyone know what Firmware is needed to play MGS: PO?
Do not know, but if it is above 2.71, it looks like I'll be ditching my homebrew :'(
I guess it will be 2.8x since it's coming this december (3.00 seem too recent to be it, but the 2.8 seem more likely to be it)
Somewhat speaking of homebrew, I hate the icons I have, they look tacky. I want to change them to something "official" looking, so I was wondering if anyone has a .png of this http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/5314/iconxg0.jpg icon. I'm going to set it to every emulator/homebrew I have, so it doesn't look so silly.
It's pretty much guaranteed to require 2.80 minimum although I'm guessing it will require 3.xx which is no matter for me regardless seeing as I updated to 3.01 today. The new update adds some pretty cool new options and functionality. It's worth downloading no matter which firmware Portable Ops requires to run.
Looks like Walmart is selling the PSP Core system for $169 on Black Friday. I wonder what the future holds for PSP now that Sony's cash cow, the PS3, is out...
So there's a security hole in 3.00 that they decided to patch with 3.01. HOWEVER, 3.01 seems to have the same flaw, and the firmware's been dumped/decrypted. Devhook ahooooooooy.
the biggest problem with the 3.00 update was that some game didn't work properly, like Jeanne d'Arc that was crashing in some loading time.
I wouldn't get my hopes up for 3.x firmware emulation on DevHook.
Sadly, it seems that this awesome piece of software has been discontinued, mainly due to Sony's efforts. |
Well due to black friday, I finally got myself a PSP. Thanks to the info of speculative, I purchased one at Wal-Mart for the price he said. I bought Ace Combat X with it, and I downloaded the Loco Roco Halloween Demo. Very cute game, i'll definitely look into getting the actual game itself. It's fun and cute as hell. I like my PSP, and I dont see why people bitch about it.
I've recently got a psp and I was wondering where are some places with good deal for a memory sticks because without it its nothing more than a miniature ps2 with no special features :/
I love it. best handheld system created yet, I love to turn the wireless on and see how many networks I can recognize on my way home. and the movies on it are top notch.
How're the games on it Balcony Heckler?
oh yeah, I forgot about that, lol, god I'm a twit
the games are actually really good, the first GTA: Liberty city stories was great, Vice city not so much, but in a lot of cases the games are really PS2 quality or better. |

Oh, and there's the whole "character config menu is slow to load" thing, but that's solved if you overclock it to 333MHz (which you shouldn't have to do, really.) The same applies for Power Stone Collection, which doesn't run all that smooth unless you overclock it. I'd say it's something of an upgraded PS1. |
If you are lucky enough to find a PSP game you control on the dpad, they can be quite great.
Anything on the analogue nub is pretty much unplayable though, without serious injuries that is. Imagine, if you will, using the GC controller's tiny dpad, only make it slightly more inconvenient and lower on the controller. Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins is completely awesome, though. As is Lumines. |
the one I want to try is Loco Roco

But then that's just me, plenty of people seem fine playing it while holding their thumb at a disturbing angle. And Heckler, LocoRoco is wonderful, though it kinda gets repetitive fast. After I finished it once, I haven't felt the drive to go back for those 100% completions just yet, but while it lasted, it was a fun, inventive and just plain happy game. |
Honestly, I don't understand the problems with the PSP's Analogue stick. Lots of early reviewers had said they had problems with it, but I'm completely fine with the implementation. The only problem I have with it is that there isn't a second nub! I need one for Katamari, it's so difficult to control without cramping within 2 hours... Then again, maybe 2 hours is a hell of a time to be playing a portable in the first place...
