I missed my bus after work, so I walked the short distance to EB Games to kill some time. I saw Sega Genesis Collection there, and having never owned a Genesis, I picked that up right away so I could play many classic titles. I then also saw Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube used. I've heard a lot of good about it, and it was in good condition, so I bought it.

I bought F.E.A.R for the 360 two days ago. I played the demo and thought it was good enough to buy. It has some good scares and shootouts. But the one thing I don't like is that there can be long periods without shooting at anything.

I got Project Gotham Racing 3 today for $15. I like racing games even though I'm 'OK' at best with most of them. It's going to take me a while to become good at breaking, especially on sharp turns.

Just picked that up myself awhile back. It's too freaking wonderful. I'm playing through all three Genesis Phantasy Stars at the same time.

Got a whole lot of games over the past few weeks. Got my Wii with Zelda and Wii Play, I got a DS Lite with Gyakuten Saiben 2, Portrait of Ruin and Project Rub but I still have lots of old DS and GBA games still to play. I got Zelda Minish Cap on GBA, Killzone Liberation on PSP and Prey on 360. Now to get round to playing them all.

Just bought the New Super Mario Bros. and it is simply amazing. Found it at costco for like $30 instead of the regular $35 I see everywhere else, so I snapped it up quick.

With Xmas money/gift certificates/boxing day deals I picked up a 360, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Gears of War, and Tiger Woods 06.

Im absolutely adoring it all.

Everything at Costco is cheaper. I'd buy everything there if I could, but I only go there every two weeks or so, and sometimes I just don't feel like waiting.

I was gonna get Yoshi's Island DS there, until a friend got it for me.

nazpyro Dec 28, 2006 03:04 PM

The $35 DS games seem to only be at Gamestops/EBGames/Funcolands. EVERYWHERE else (Target, Best Buy, Costco, Wal-Mart, etc.), most of those Nintendo games (like Kirby, Mario, Yoshi, etc) go for ~$30. =/

hmmmmmm, i do believe this is the first time i've had a post deleated. O well, more detail this time.

For Christmas i received:

Kingdom Hearts II

For Boxing Day i picked up:

Command and Conquer: The First Decade
Hunter the Reckoning: Wayward
Wild Arms 3

So far i'm excited about all of them. Kingdom Hearts is amazing so far. It has a comfortably familiar, yet refreshingly different feel to it than the first one. The exposition has me wanting more, and me thinking about it is only making me wonder why the hell i'm here and not playing it right now.

I was super excited to start C&C today (which is why i stopped playing KHII) but my computer refuses to read it. See my thread in Help Desk for details.

Wild Arms 3 i ain't touching until i finish 1 and 2 first, so not much to say there, and as for Wayward, i'm saving it for when there's a lull in gaming.

It was probably a huge mistake getting all of these, as my list of games to finish is monumental, but i think i can handle it.

Yesterday I finally placed my order on Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. I had some serious amounts of fun with the previous Dawn of Sorrow, and expect Portrait of Ruin to fill in the void after beating DoS. I really hope for some smashing bonus material, just as in DoS (Julius mode for the massive wins).

I also picked upp We Love Katamari today, for a whopping $10. I've just tried it for a couple of minutes before, and had no hopes or whatever, but for $10! Just couldn't resist.

Battle_CRY Dec 29, 2006 07:06 PM

hmm well I purchased a game yesterday...rather a few of my friends and I purchsed a game yesterday for our friend's late x-mas/ early b-day present We decided to get him Final Fantasy III for the Nintendo DS...spent about 2 hours traveling to different stores looking for the game (including Gamestop, EBGames, Target, Best Buy. Circuit City, and even the Toys R' Us)....we ended up buying the last copy of the game at Wal-Mart for $40....we could have purchased it at gamespot for $35 used w/rumble pack...but we opted for a new copy of the game!

28Link Dec 29, 2006 08:24 PM

Got Animal Crossing on the 27th, since WalMart was selling it for $20 cdn, $10 cheaper than usual, which is kind of an incentive to buy this game, since I've always been a bit interested in it.

lemonmanko Dec 29, 2006 09:26 PM

lawl, I have this same issue of Edge, only minus the funky bag. Maybe it's just the bag here or something, who knows.

Either way, this was their 10th anniversary issue and they made ten different covers for it, all related to some more or less classic, be it Street Fighter 2, Pokemon or Pilotwings. My subscription brought me the Vib Ribbon cover~

Elixir Dec 30, 2006 05:44 AM

Yeah it clearly states on the other side that there's 10 covers. A Super Metroid one, Pokemon one, Tetris and a few others. This is still sealed though and it doesn't look like it's ever been touched. I'm debating whether or not to open it or keep it and track down another copy sometime (probably ebay).

It was a great issue, so maybe you should. The article on the magazine's "perfect" 10 score was especially interesting, as was the Ten Top tens piece and the look into score wars and Twin Galaxies.

SouthJag Dec 30, 2006 02:37 PM

Kudos on scoring the VP2 package. I'd love to get my hands on one of those, but I'm just not willing to spend the money on it.

Chaotic Dec 30, 2006 08:23 PM

First batch of games i've actually bought in three weeks.

Victorious Boxing 2 (PS2) - Heard this game was actually pretty good, thought I might check it out.

Tales of Symphonia (GC) - It was one of those Gamecube games I just needed to have, so I got it before it was too late.

sabbey Dec 30, 2006 08:49 PM

For PC, I finally bought F.E.A.R. - Extraction Point. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet, wanted to complete the original and haven't gotten back into it yet, after reformatting my HDD and moving to the Quake II/IV SE DVD. That said, I loved the original up to the 5th chapter I got to before the reformat however, so I am looking forward to going back... :)

Other recent PC games have been:

Apache Longbow Assault
Delta Force: Black Hawk Down -- Team Sabre
Hoyle Card Games 2007 (Playing this more than anything else currently, if you believe it) :D
Lego Star Wars
Pirates

Will need a joystick for Apache, but the rest are all great, fun games and come recommended. :)

I also bought myself a XBOX 360 last month for an early Christmas gift, along with the following games:

Assault Heroes (XBLA)
Bankshot Billiards 2 (XBLA)
Bejeweled 2 (XBLA)
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII
Call of Duty 2
Chromehounds
Cloning Clyde (XBLA)
Contra (XBLA)
Crystal Quest (XBLA)
Defender (XBLA)
DOOM (XBLA)
Feeding Frenzy (XBLA)
Galaga (XBLA)
Geometry Wars Evolved (XBLA)
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
Hexic HD (XBLA) ~ Came with console...
Outfit, The
Perfect Dark Zero
Small Arms (XBLA)
Smash TV (XBLA)
Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting (XBLA)
Time Pilot (XBLA)

I have to say, I am really enjoying the games and the 360 in general. :tpg:

I finally caved in and bought Final Fantasy XII: Collector's Edition. We got it in used, discs were in great shape and everything was intact. With the employee discount / 10% discount card, I only had to pay $35 for it. So yippee.

Inhert Dec 31, 2006 02:16 AM

well I didn't bought them but those are christmas gift XD

final fantasy III on DS, Children of Mana on DS, mario hoops 3-on-3, power stone collection on psp, untold legends dark kingdom and finally zelda twilight princess on gamecube

I really like FFIII and Mario basket on the ds, FFIII is one of the few rpg lately that I can realy get into it.

I really like dark kingdom, I did like the gauntlet legend series and it remind me a lot of it.
