Holy monkey feces... that site seriously needs to fire some "reviewers." Saying Perfect Dark Zero is greater than Zelda... I feel physically sick.

StarmanDX Nov 21, 2006 12:44 AM

Oh, and wooo! TP finally got enough reviews to get added to the list on Game Rankings. I see none of the other reviewers agree with Gamespot, either.

It's OFFICIAL:
Zelda: TP is the 2nd best game of ALL TIME.

is the current run gold discs limited? Anyone know... I know they normally are, but I'm having trouble finding out this time around. too much other new information out there with release of the Wiis and all.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Nov 21, 2006 02:33 AM

It's been out for TWO DAYS. It's a little early to be making that call, alright?

That said, I'm enjoying the dungeon design and pretty much everything about it so far, so it's not like it's not excellent.

But who cares what other people rate it?

Now, let's change the flow of this fucking discussion.

How far are you guys, and what's your favorite dungeon so far? I'm digging the Water Temple right about now. Kick ass. <3

Sousuke Nov 21, 2006 03:22 AM

I'm totally loving this game. The dungeons are so immersive, and I've actually been completely stumped a few times. I've just started the fourth dungeon, and so far, I think the second dungeon has been the easiest. The forest temple took me a whole hour and a half to finish.

Spoiler:
The scene you see when you restore Lanaryu [I think that's its name... the spirit in Lake Hylia] is amazingly creepy. It's so dark, crazy, and... well, I love it. And it throws you for a loop story-wise, too. The whole shadow thing, and Ilia/Link with the creepy eyes... and all that. Heh.

So, who else thinks Ooccoo is the creepiest thing ever?

I prefer button pressing to the motion controls.

Especially since Link only does stock animations instead of actually following your movements, thus making the gesture controls utterly pointless. I mean, if you do a horizontal slash to the left, he invariably does a stock animation in which he slashes it to the right... if they were gonna use stock animations anyways there's absolutely no point to having gesture controls.

And yes, I have the game. :eyebrow:

Hmm, just out of curiousity, are you playing like a lefty?

Does anyone know if the gold disk Zelda: TP discs are temporary with this first shipment, or will they be around for a while? I am curious, as I want to get the gold disk version, but I won't be getting a Wii for a while.

exactly why i want to know, ill go put down the money now on it if thats the case, even though i wont be able to play it for a bit.

so... anyone know?

Sousuke Nov 21, 2006 12:33 PM

If I had to guess, I'd say it's standard for the game. Normally there's a 'Collector Edition' type tag on the game if that's the case... At least, it was with the N64 games. This one doesn't have anything like that, so I'd say they're all gonna be 'gold'.

I just finished the 1st temple yesterday. It took me like an hour and a half to finish it. I love the gale boomerang. When I first got it I spent some time just going around the room I was in blowing away the leaves off the floor. This game just keeps getting better and better. I also really like Midna; having her/his (I think it's a she) laugh come out of the Wiimote was just one of the little things that is making my Wii experience the best thing ever!

Kolba Nov 21, 2006 01:27 PM

Remember that TP promo track released a while back, with the vocals that made everyone go "OOH, UMM, ERR". Has that got anything to do with the final product?

The_Griffin Nov 21, 2006 02:20 PM

On the third temple now. The lava in the second one was an utter BITCH. ;_;

Also, is anybody else noticing a LOT of similarities between this game and Ocarina of Time? The music, the dungeons (not the design, but you'll see eventually), and other stuff I can't remember.

Anyway, I fell in love with this game yesterday. The moment it happened was when...

DELICIOUS[/spoil:
I jousted with a moblin on a pig's back on a bridge with no safety rails, while the entrances to the bridge were blocked by bonfires. Such an utterly cool moment. <333

So yeah. LOVE this game now. =D

No... I'm right-handed. I just think the motion controls are pointless.

For god's sake, it's a she! How could you possibly mistake her figure for a male's? Let me help you out, look at this handy color-coded image.

Forsety Nov 21, 2006 09:00 PM

IT'S A SPOILER!:
The ending will set everyone straight on her gender anyway, so in a few months nobody will be calling her a he.

StarmanDX Nov 21, 2006 10:13 PM

Good use of spoiler tags there, champ.

Infernal Monkey Nov 21, 2006 10:21 PM

Indeed, holy moly. Spray painted a spoiler tag on dat shit boooooyeee.

PsychoJosh Nov 22, 2006 12:13 AM

Um, that's not really a spoiler... a real spoiler would be something like
Spoiler:
Ganondorf turning out to be Link's surrogate mother!!!!!!!!

StarmanDX Nov 22, 2006 12:19 AM

Well, the mere fact of it happening leads to wondering why it happens, and anyone with any deductive skill whatsoever can come up with a few probable reasons. So no, perhaps it's not direct spoiling, but I'd still very much like to avoid indirect spoiling. Futhermore, any time you write a sentence that confirms something and contains the words "the ending," a spoiler alarm should be going off in your head.

rpgcrazied Nov 22, 2006 12:24 AM

Gametrailers.com has a review up.. 9.7 pretty cool watch.

God.. only a few more weeks left for the cube ppl

Forsety Nov 22, 2006 12:28 AM

It was a cynical response, dealing with the fact that they call her a "she" numerous times throughout the game; and was confirmed to be a she before the game was even released. Still, if I gave anybody a scare I apologize.

rpgcrazied Nov 22, 2006 12:37 AM

Is there not a menu? All ive seen is the item ring.

But no menu like WW? that shows you how many pecies of heart you have, or pecies of triforce.

StarmanDX Nov 22, 2006 12:39 AM

Yeah, there is. The - button gets you the item ring and + button shows you the collection page, which shows stuff like that, allows you to save, etc.

rpgcrazied Nov 22, 2006 12:42 AM

can you screenshot it? :) i dont think there is a SS of the menu.. id like to see it
