Hmm, interesting, a lot of people do like the PV, and I have to say I quite like the Aruiteru PV also. The other good news on the Morning Musume front was that they spent the first week at number 1, which is great.

As for Tommy heavenly6, she's had a couple of new songs, there's the Hallowe'en track and she's got a Christmas single coming up too.

I have a good number of PVs up for direct download at my media blog. I haven't gotten around to reuploading a large portion of the broken links on it, however, so you'll have to live with what I've got up. The broken links are in posts dated prior to September 1st.

ahaha wtf.. van's new PV is boring. :( I'm dissapointed.

OmagnusPrime Nov 20, 2006 05:52 AM

Just checked out the PV to one of Koda Kumi's new songs "Cherry Girl". As you would expect it's skankarific, but the song is actually pretty good. I likes it.

Speaking of Ms. Koda, she's also part of a collaboration project called (I kid you not) "Amazing Nuts!" that's releasing a 4-track single early next month. It's a collaboration between Studio 4C and avex (so anime and music), so each of the PVs is animated in a different style. The other artists taking part are mink, RAM RIDER and m-flo loves DOPING PANDA. I've heard three of the tracks and they're all rather good, though some of the animation was better in certain ones (the Koda Kumi one had some stunning animation).

ooh interesting... Flara LOVES m-flo ^___^ (i wonder what kind of music Flara LOVES m-flo would make) lol

Elrasiel Nov 24, 2006 01:54 PM

Oohhhh Koda-Skank released something new? Gotta check it out. Can't wait for Ayumi Hamasaki's new album. You can get more infos about it HERE. Love her newest PV Jewel.

I'm quite interested in Koda Kumi's Cherry Girl DRAMA... if the drama is anything like those miscellanous scenes in the Cherry Girl PV, it must be fun to watch too ^____^ seems like there's a lot of costume changes...

Rejoice, for I have rekindled my passion for songs uttered in Japanese words and tunes! For the night that passed, I have listened to melodies by the trio of Core of Soul and the soulfull voice of Misia. Apparently I have lost interest in anything too pop/sugary (no offense guys :( ), but the ballads are tickling my ears, heart, and... pants?

:p

/me listens to some Miki Imai now

Woot, just put in my preorder for YUI's new single along with Otsuka Ai's new concert DVD. ^___^

lia Nov 29, 2006 01:06 PM

I haven't bought new stuff in a while, and I might be able to after Christmas. My latest purchases have been Hyde (Faith, both versions), some Nana Kitade and almost the entire Olivia Lufkin discography (to fill in what I was missing). Any suggestions for something new? No bubblegum pop or hip-hop, plzkthx. I'm dying for new music.

OmagnusPrime Nov 29, 2006 01:18 PM

What sort of thing you after, more rock or acoustic type stuff? If you like acoustic guitar stuff I'd recommend YUI (just because) and Eri Takenaka.

lia Nov 29, 2006 01:23 PM

I could go either way, but I tend to lean more towards rock than acoustic. However, they both have their merits. I have some YUI on my iPod, but it's only stuff from the BLEACH soundtrack.

OmagnusPrime Nov 29, 2006 05:02 PM

That'd be "LIFE", or if you're very up to date, her new one "Rolling Star" which is out in January.

As for rock, I'd recommend taking a look at Tokyo Jihen and Shiina Ringo. Also, Go! Go! 7188 and more pop-rock stuff like Do As Infinity.

lia Nov 29, 2006 06:03 PM

It's Rolling Star, I believe. Never hard Tokyo Jihen, but I'll check them out. I've got some Shiina Ringo and Go! Go! 7188. DAI isn't new to me either. Thanks for the recs!

OmagnusPrime Nov 29, 2006 06:16 PM

Tokyo Jihen is the band Shiina Ringo has been part of for the last couple of years. Sort of Shiina but more rocky I guess.

lia Nov 29, 2006 11:33 PM

Ah, I hadn't heard about that. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to check it out.

Vemp Dec 1, 2006 12:27 PM

lia, aside from Tokyo Jihen, if you want rock/alt tunes, you can try The Brilliant Green (although they haven't released anything new in ages), Anna Tsuchiya (I adore), ZONE, Judy & Mary (old but good), High & Mighty Color, fra-foa (although they can be slow and boring), Tommy heavenly6, Sayaka, Nanase Aikawa, Miz, and I think I should stop there.

I ran out of names/bands to say. -_-

Spoiler:
DAI 4 LYF!!

I haven't heard much of The Brilliant Green, but I like what I have heard. I've got a few Anna Tsuchiya CDs. Judy and Mary, you say? Cheese Pizza cracks me up. High & Mighty Color is good too. I've never really gotten into fra-foa (mostly because of that slow and boring you mentioned -_-). TH6 is good in small doses, I can't take too much of her at once for some reason. Haven't heard of Sayaka or Miz, but Nanase Aikawa pwns me. Thanks for recs. I'll soon have music coming back out of my ears because I'll have listened to so much.

Hey no prob, I would have recommended some more if I hadn't deleted half of the Japanese music files on this computer.

Curse you declining disk space, curse you to digital hell!

Oh, I totally understand. Some music stays on this comp, the rest gets YSIed to the other comp that has more space, and goes onto my ipod there. I have the "little computer". Pffff.
