I got a full daedric set last night finally. I still am not very far in the main quest at all, but IMO it's a lot more fun to do the other stuff first.

Currently level 31 imperial.

Kilroy Apr 2, 2006 03:56 AM

Okay, need some help, again.
I'm doing a Fighter's Guild quest,
Spoiler:
where I have to destroy a machine creating Hirst Sap or something like that. It's the stuff that causes you to kill everyone at Water's Edge. The problem is, that I can't figure out how to destroy that machine.

Any help?

Grab the two lose pipes (put them in your inventory - yes it'll fit) and then simple use the wheels you see. After that you can beat Maglir =3

I agree. I've barely touched the main quest - but I'm the arena grand champion and will now be spending my time doing Mages Guild quests. I've been playing for almost 17 hours and I've barely touched the main story.

Spike Apr 2, 2006 02:30 PM

Same here... Whenever I do touch the main quest, it's not really because I want to, it's just because I feel like I need to. Then after a little bit, I go back to other quests. To me, the main quest is the most boring quest chain I've encountered.

Finally got to play this over the weekend at my dad's house. I had to put the setting fairly low, but holy shit it's awesome. So far I still like the Morrowind area a bit better, though I can't put my finger on WHY exactly...

Anywho, I've got a question about game saves for Oblivion (and Morrowind too, but I figure it's the same for both so whatever.) I started my game on one computer, but I want to continue my quest on another computer. Is there any way I could possibly do this? Is there any way I could switch back and forth between two computers and continue the same quest on both?

Yeah, saves are under My Documents/My Games/Oblivion/Saves, you can copy them back and forth (just make sure you remember to always bring the latest version). I'm pretty sure that works, though I haven't tried it myself. Perhaps it's a good idea to make a backup of the whole Oblivion directory just in case.

Mucknuggle Apr 2, 2006 06:39 PM

Am I the only one here that has over a dozen mods installed? I'm so used to them that I don't think that I'd be able to play the game without them.

Dark Nation Apr 3, 2006 04:43 AM

Mucknuggle: I decided to hold off on the 24 hours mod for now, but I did find a very nice one: All it does it colorize the map when you go to F4. Instead of a bland Sephia map, you now have grass and snow, wee! Its a very small mod, but its something that I think they should have added to the official release.

I did use a cure vampirism mod, because I got stuck on getting the cure, as the woman wouldn't take the last two ingrediants (Take the fucking Nightshade!).

Ah, thank you. Because you wrote that I'd fight M, I killed him before he started the conversation. That earned me a murder, so that quest lead me into the arms of the Dark Brotherhood. Weee:edgarrock:

Spike Apr 3, 2006 03:38 PM

Has anyone seen/heard about any modders working on a zoomable map mod?

Matt Apr 3, 2006 03:57 PM

Hey check it out!

Bethesda is gonna charge PC users for downloadable content, akin to how it's done on Xbox Live! GREAT THINKING GUYS!

You'll laugh at what they're offering. No, really...

If you're interested in outfitting your horse with a spiffy armor pack, it'll set you back 200 Microsoft Points (roughly $2.50). PC owners aren't out of luck, though, as Bethseda confirmed to 1UP the same content will be available on their website later today or tomorrow morning for exactly 50 cents cheaper at $1.99.
Pimp my ride Elder Scroll style. :tpg:

Oh, here's what the armor looks like (in case you were wondering):

Mucknuggle Apr 3, 2006 05:47 PM

And this is worth $2 because?

Grundlefield Earth Apr 3, 2006 06:34 PM

Still cool and still have points left, so I will get it. But doesn't bethesda know ONE PC user will buy it and distribute it to every other Oblivion player.

wtran168 Apr 3, 2006 06:53 PM

People at Bethseda must have been dropped on the head.

Kilroy Apr 4, 2006 06:01 AM

I'd love to see my unicorn look like that...

Anyway, I feel massively silly for asking about this game all the time, but... you know, anyway:

I've found a walkthrough whih tells you how to obtain the Skeleton Key (Unlimited lockpicks, essentially...) but I have to find a Shrine. The describtion n the walkthrough confuses the hell outta me*, so if anyone knows exactly where to find the shrine, I'd be grateful.

*Really, it does. It doesn't make any sense to me;_;

Mucknuggle Apr 4, 2006 07:07 AM

Follow the arrow for the quest on your compass, just like every other quest in the game . . .

navyseals Apr 4, 2006 07:23 AM

I think this is what youre looking for: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gen...7296684&page=1

I just started playing myself. wood elf archer/thief type thing. solved some quest where someone was buying goods from a graverobber, that was pretty cool. might join teh thieves guild next maybe.

200 points for horse armour? how about NO. I paid $100 (australian) for this game, is that not enough?

Dark Nation Apr 4, 2006 07:48 AM

When someone offers that horse armor to the general public (I.E. people who dont' wanna pay extra for what SHOULD be free, I.E., any non dumbfuck) hit this thread up with the links.

I imagine that problem was resolved something like this:
Bob: "Hey Joe, since Xbox 360 members can pay for extra content, lets release this horse armor for like 2 Bucks."
Joe: "K, but what about the PC users?"
Bob: "Oh, yeah do the same thing, but make it a bit cheaper (He says while recieving a blowjob from Clara in accounting)."
Joe: "But what about the users dis--"
Bob: "Can't talk, getting head."

---

I was feeling unusually sleepy yesterday, so I paused Oblivion, laid the fuck down, and passed the fuck out, and when I woke up at like 4am, I resumed playing right where I left off for about a half hour :tpg:

Oblivion Screensaver FTW!

Grawl Apr 4, 2006 08:13 AM

I saw an IGN Insider movie about horses with armor - and now the horses look silly. Money for that? You got the Collector's Edition for $60,- and they dare to charge for something they wanted to implent in the retail game? Ridicilous.

Spike Apr 4, 2006 10:10 AM

Why are people calling Oblivion the best game ever? I don't even think it qualifies as the best RPG ever. The best PC RPG ever? No.. not that either.

Don't get me wrong. I like the game and have enjoyed playing it so far, but aside from its graphics, it's nothing revolutionary. Once the novelty wears off, I think people will realize this as well.

Forsety Apr 4, 2006 10:21 AM

I don't see why. Some people feel like Morrowind is the best PC-RPG ever and IMO this game improves on it 100 fold. You are also totally forgetting user mods which will enhance the game quite a bit too the more they flood in. In a year or so there could be some pretty amazing mods or maybe even an impressive expansion or two. You're really selling the game short.
