So, do us Yanks have an "info" screen, too?
|
Psh... who knows. It's only a matter of time. Aus-folk seem to get their VC stuff on Friday so we might get one of those on Monday.

Wasn't Lukage complaining about the amount of VC games he's bought and the lack of space he has to put them on?
There is no fucking way Nintendo are going to let you connect an external HDD to a Wii. I just don't see it happening at all, because that's not what they're about. Do Wiis support 4 GB SD cards? That would solve a lot of the issue right there. |
While I agree that I doubt they'd ever allow your own USB HDD to be hooked up to the thing, I can imagine them releasing a proprietary storage solution later on, and charging an arm and a leg for it.
It's not like they don't have a history of putting out mostly useless, sometimes pricey "feature upgrades". |
I love how all these idiots like asking for a firmware update to support sdhc sd cards which allow for higher storage. Firmware does not replace hardware so this won't work. This is why I push for a usb harddrive.
|
For some reason, my VC games don't work now. They just freeze when I start it. It looks like the game is playing but the video is frozen. Tips anyone?
|
I've never heard of that one before. You could always call Nintendo. They're supposed to have really good customer support.
|
And so , Nintendo slaps us with :
World Classic Baseball (Tbgfx) Yoshi's Story (N64) Super Thunder Blade (Gens) Not sure about WCB but I did play Yoshi's story and STB. They're both decent games. |
Yoshi's Story is decent, but not worth $10. It doesn't hold a candle to the Yoshi's Island games, but there's a few songs that can get stuck in your head.
|
I remember renting Yoshi's Story ages ago and thinking it was worth the $5 rental cost, but not much more. Still, it's nice to see another N64 game added to the VC.

This week on Virtual Console US (9/24/07):
Kirby's Avalanche (SNES) Legend of Hero Tonma (TG16) Streets of Rage 3 (Genesis) Have fun. |
So how does Streets of Rage 3 stack up to the previous two? I love both of those, but I've heard SoR3 isn't that great.
|
Where the fuck is our Hanabi Festival? >=U

All three SoR games are complete in VC..Any other trilogies out there? |
The Bonk trilogy seems complete since a couple of updates ago as well.
Yay ^^ Kirby's Avalanche brings back lots of nostalgia of how hard the pathetic Squishy was to beat as a child. Fond memories which led me to know of the Puyo Pop series. It's no Kirby Super Star yet, but at least they're headed in the right direction. I'll finish up both Neutopias before grabbing something new. |

(Nintendo): "Here's a 1GB USB drive for only $100. Look, Xbox360's new hard drive is $180, so ours is way cheaper." Me: "Bye N, I'm buying a 360 and dropping my Wii on Reggie from the top of a tall building. And if I see that Miyamoto dude he'll get the business end of my Wii-mote nunchuk." |
Sin & Falcon Punchiment hit the PAL VC today, was anyone a bad enough dude to get it? I won't be able to pick up a points card until mid-next week. Also it's 1200 points. :boxing:
|
Okay, I've been pretty much complaint-free about the VC so far. I don't have an issue with the prices, none of the games I've bought have any real technical problems, and I don't have much of a problem with the rate at which they've been releasing good games. Arbitrarily jacking up Sin & Punishment's cost by 200 points though? That's complete bullshit and eradicates the whole purpose for maintaining this pricing structure based on console. I'll still pay it if it comes to the NA shop, but it's bullshit.

It's especially lawl considering NoE didn't translate any of these, they're just straight up Japanese dumps. Not much of an issue for S&P since it already has an English dub, but jacking up the price for saaaay Mario's Super Picross, only to have the honour of being slapped in the face with mountains of Japanese text is dodgy.
|
Jeez, the Sin and Punishment price is just plain dirty. "Hey cool, Sin and Punishment is here! I'll just buy my $10 worth of points and pick it up...oh wait, now I need ANOTHER $10 points card because they only come in sets of 1000! Wonderful!". Does anyone else think these entirely arbitarary and pointless "x points" thing just exists so you're forced to spend more money than it looks like you do? At least before they could use the excuse of having a "consistant" pricing system...now they're being just plain greedy. They need to simply let you buy stuff with a credit card directly for whatever price it is and make this whole buying points thing optional.
Anyway, aside from that, I was really hoping they would add a Wii controller option to the game, because it would've played beautifully like that. Too bad it sounds like a straight and untouched port :( Come to think of it, didn't Nintendo mention something about possibly upgrading or modifying games on the VC to include various other features? This would've been a damn good way for them to make good on that. The only VC game I know of that was intentionally different from the original version is Kid Icarus, where they removed the cheat codes for whatever crazy reason. |
I have no idea what Nintendo are doing these days.
Why the extra cost? Is America not getting it or something? Why do I have to spend 200 extra points on something which is normally 1000? What are the other 200 points going towards? Oh well! With the progression of Wii modchips eventually VC will become irrelevant. <3 |
What? Sin and Punishment is just the Japanese version? THEY TRANSLATED THIS SHIT 6 YEARS AGO! They didn't even have to do anything, what the fuck?
I still can't belive you people are complaining about 2 extra dollars. Quote:
Oh, and Japan's getting Alien Solier. Lucky guys. |
Wait, they're charging you more and not even fucking translating it? What the fuck, Nintendo? This shit is not that hard. Fucking rip-off.
