That is, assuming the Smiths don't appear in this game. Imagine, if one of the top ten is the Smiths, that would be awsome. Too bad it probably wouldn't happen.

Grubdog Jul 31, 2006 01:26 PM

Well
Spoiler:
if the Travis in Heroes is the same as the Travis in Killer 7, he got killed by Harman Smith, who we might see at some point in Heroes.

Spoiler:
Except Killer7 Travis was killed in the 1970's in the Killer7 world, and at that point I don't think they quite had the technology that Heroes has. Plus they look completely different.

Man, now you guys have my hopes up that one of the later Smith syndicates will be in the game. Too bad it almost definitely won't happen. Although I wouldn't be too surprised to see an unrelated enemy with Multifoliate Personae Phenomena.

Grubdog Jul 31, 2006 11:15 PM

Spoiler:
Actually there are hints the game is somehow set in the 60s or 70s, such as Helter Skelter name and apparently that chicks name is the same as some 70s porn star name was. Though those references doesn't mean it's actually IN the 70s, also considering how the game looks... Who knows!

The "new"/official vid is out, check it out at gametrailers. It's basically the same as the leaked one, with a bit of added/altered video effects, changed the music (not as good as before, I think), and they redid the voice acting (same lines, less cheesy).

Wall Feces Sep 23, 2006 05:21 PM

I can't find it, would it be too hard to link it?

Haha, sorry about that, I kinda got lazy. I can't seem to find it though, they might have taken it off. I have the vid on my hd, but I'll need some place to upload it to.

Wall Feces Sep 23, 2006 11:07 PM

www.sendspace.com

Do it up! I'm getting antsy!!

WraithTwo Sep 24, 2006 12:55 AM

The reason you couldn't find it is because the new title is Project: Heroes. Search under that, and it'll come right up.

Honestly though, the new trailer blows. All they did was made the music suck, remove the beheading of Helter Skelter and make the voice acting less interesting, while not really improving its quality at all.

Sorry about that, I wasn't at my comp since I last posted. I'm uploading it now.

Anyway, WrathTwo basically summed up the key points to the vid. They basically took out what I thought was the best part of the original vid.

I seem to have misplaced the old trailer...but could you see Sylvia's bra before? MOAR PLEASE!

Heroes Now No More Heroes, and much more revealed in the newest issue of Famitsu.

Quote:

No More Heroes takes place in the city of Santa Destroy, which is designed to look like a big city in the Western United States. You're free to explore the town to your liking, taking on missions large and small to collect money and purchase new weapons, although the game's storyline progresses only when you take on big killing jobs from the UAA. Your day begins in your motel room, where you change your clothes and get ready for a day out on the town. You can walk around town if you like, or you can speed around on your futuristic Schpeltiger motor bike.
Ugh. I had been really anticipating this game when I thought it might be like Killer7 with Wii controls. Now that it sounds like a GTA clone, I'm not nearly as hyped for it. I won't pass judgment until I play it, of course, but this doesn't bode well.

On the other hand, I really like the way the story background unfolds:

Quote:

In No More Heroes, you play as Travis Touchdown, a geek who wins a Beam Katana (a weapon that resembles a Light Saber) through an online auction and uses the weapon to start a new career as a professional killer.
Too bad you apparently can't play as Helter Skelter, though. =/

Wall Feces Nov 29, 2006 08:37 PM

Quote:

T-shirts aside, No More Heroes is all about using your Beam Katana to defeat enemies. When fighting, you position the Wiimote facing up, centered, or facing down in order to move Travis into one of three fighting positions. To perform standard attacks, you repeatedly press the A button.
I was also hoping for some Wii-mote fighting that didnt involve the A button, but oh well... Hoping this will turn out better than it sounds!

Amayirot Akago Nov 30, 2006 12:21 AM

Killer 7 was one of the primary reasons I hated not having a GC, and I'll prolly pick up this game too. Beam Katana FTW.

Krelian Nov 30, 2006 05:58 AM

I don't really like the radical shift in art style.

I loved the cel-shading from the trailer :(

Amayirot Akago Nov 30, 2006 06:22 AM

Hmmm... hopefully that's an early alpha or something with cel-shading not implented yet. I REALLY don't hope that's gonna be the game's final look.

UNLESS............... He appears later in the game as an integral part of the story. I don't think they'd show a character that'll only appear at the start of the plot... But knowing Suda, we won't know.

It is sounding like a GTA clone but you know what? It'll probably do wonders to finally put the nail on the "kiddy" image that Nintendo has (doing great to shake it off with Wii's sleek design). The Nintendophiles and hardcore gamers might not care, but it'll help immerse the new audience Nintendo has it's sights set on.

A BEAM SWORD. HMMM... OH GOD WHERE HAVE I SEEN/HEARD/SMELT THIS BEFORE???!!?!? (still love it though)

WraithTwo Nov 30, 2006 02:42 PM

I really don't mind the graphical changes at all. Sure, its not what was expected, but as long as they're clean, I don't care what style they're in, really. I am disappointed to hear that it's a GTA clone, however, being from Suda I hope it turns out as something more.

The combat sounds like something that might be really bad on paper, and really good in reality, so I'll have to wait and see.

Overall, I think this is definitely a title to continue to watch.

I don't know, even with Suda, being beheaded kinda makes it difficult for someone to be in a story later except as a ghost. It'd be interesting, though, if No More Heroes has as much a supernatural side as Killer7 did.

If Killer7, Eternal Darkness, Red Steel, and all the Resident Evil's for GC couldn't do that, I hardly see how this can. =/

Mmmm, crappy 35% complete graphics!

Amayirot Akago Dec 1, 2006 02:53 AM

Hmmm, looks like there still is a small degree of cel-shading going on there.

Beam Katana still looks as sexy as ever though:biggrin:

chaofan Dec 1, 2006 03:01 AM

Seems Travis Touchdown has styled his hair a bit since the last trailer. Hopefully he's grown some balls too (YOUR SHINY ARMOUR AND FINE WORDS WON'T GET YOU ANYWHERE!)

MuppeTFuckeR Dec 3, 2006 06:14 PM

you can see the full Famitsu scans here - http://www.jeux-france.com/news18324...-d-images.html

Krelian Dec 4, 2006 06:34 AM

Okay, so this is basically a cyberpunk GTA.

I really am loving the look of this, actually.

Infernal Monkey Dec 4, 2006 09:04 PM

IGN's just put up a heap of new screens. =o
