The blanket. Heaters are nice, but enough blankets can replace a heater. Also portability has merits too.
We have central air in my apartment, but I never turn it on. About a week ago, my roommate came back from Milwaukee, and wanted to kick my ass for not turning on the air. I just sat around playing Makai Kingdom when it was hot, but I didn't realize how hot it was until my roommate said something. According to the thermostat, it was 103F. I can stand the heat, but those cold January/Febuary days really get under my skin. |
My second favorite is probably either the guitar or the piano, for being pretty much the key instruments in the music I listen to...
and maybe the violin. |
It'd probably have to the the computer. It's a source of never-ending entertainment and a great tool for research or communications. On the other hand, it's helped to contribute to a lack of me going outside as much as I used to (the stifling heat notwithstanding)...
In terms of the most usful inventions, though, I suppose the answer would be different. |
the book. without this little collection of paper and scribbles, modern life would never have come about. followed closely by the lightbulb.
