Yeah, I also think it's starting to get pretty generic. It's caught my attention, though, so unless it gets really bad I'll stick it out till the end.

I do like the characters though, despite how Tabitha is a blatant Yuki ripoff.

FatsDomino Aug 1, 2006 02:52 PM

How is she a Yuki rip-off? You realize how generic that type of character is, right?

More like despite how Yuki is a Rei clone and Tabitha is also a Rei clone.

OMG TEH REI

This has quickly become my favorite anime this season

Louise is one of the few Tsundere characters i like at all. Only other one i remember is Shana, and i still didn't like shana as much as i am liking Louise.

I don't really care for Tabitha other than her staff, because i like staves.

Kirche is another favorite character of mine. And not for the Oppai effect either.

Montmerency's design seriously makes me happy. I love her. She ties with Louise as best character this season and i'll hear no other opinion >:(

Someone at Kuroneko has a stutter in their finger movements!

If you think about it, grammically its incorrect. But normally we read along right thru and without think once so ever about it because, we have just learned that its no problem.:doggy:

Uh, there shouldn't even be a question that they're using a word wrong. "Lose" and "loose" have two completely different meanings.

It's a case of not looking over it thuroughly before approving the translation.

Episode 6 folks!

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...gryTabitha.jpg

Hungry Tabitha is huuuuuunnnnngryyyyy. =ooooooooo

We seem to be into the few episodes where they try to establish characters backgrounds a little more. I'm guessing we'll be seeing mostly Louise, Kirche (<3) and Tabitha as our main focus. As an aside:

Episode 6:
I wonder what's causing such weird items to go from Saitos word to Louise's world. I mean come on, first a porno magazine, then a soldier with a rocket launcher? What's the deal. Anybody else have any clues?

Also, please tell me that wasn't the real Mrs. Longueville. ;_____;

Mojougwe Aug 15, 2006 02:06 AM

Spoiler:
These things and people are being summoned. The Wizards and witches are probably doing certain summoning spells incorrectly. Remember the Zerbst family heriloom book? A.K.A. Porno magazine. That was "the book that was summoned." The modern day soldier was also summoned. But not by the head of the academy. By someone else. That soldier just happened to be limping by and was timley enough to lend a hand.

Funny though, that an explosive would blow away a dragon's head. Seriously, dragons/wyrms are supposed to be carapaced creatures. Hard, outter shells protecting their bodies. Even parts of their head.

And understandable, since Louise can't do magic right, she often screws up. Is it not a coincedence that Saito was summoned by accident? After all, Louise has never casted a spell perfectly. Louise was probably supposed to summon something similar to her family name/history.

Anyway, episode 6 is pretty good. This really helps Saito out versus the whole, "Oh you're inferior, like a dog" thing.

And...

Spoiler:
Lol at the shiny sword.

Ashton Aug 15, 2006 04:07 PM

Spoiler:
LAW out of fucking nowhere. That whole scene was fantastic.

Louise's "SHUT UP!" reminds me of Shana from Shakugan no Shana. And I thought of her as a Shana clone up until episode 6, where she branched off and became her own character. She's still somewhat generic, but not a clone. Saito? He wins. "Your breasts are Zero" is a comment that would leave most guys in their graves. Also, he has Haxx sword skillz. All in all I enjoy it, and look foreward to the next episode.

That's because both chataracters (Louise and Shana) have the same voice actor (Rie Kugimiya).

Spoiler:
Haxx? Didn't you see the scenes where the runic symbols on his left hand light up/enchant strength? It somehow gives him knowledge on how to use any weapon he touches. Not only that, he gains a boost in agility and strength. So in a sense, the runic symbols give him the power to be a weapons expert.

Saito has probably never used, or learned how to use, a rocket launcher in his entire life so far. But when he touched that weapon, ths supposed 'Staff of Destruction,' his runic symbols lit up and gave him knowledge on how to use it. Immediately he deployed it like a pro. Other factual things such as the launcher's limited ammunition and degree of explosive damage were probably already known by him from other media.

And this 7th episode was pretty good as well. Really liking how Louise is trying to connect with Saito. Well, at least it looks like she's trying.

Sakabadger Aug 30, 2006 11:56 AM

So, uh. Siesta is FAST.

Spoiler:
I was a little disappointed, actually. Going out and doing something like that seems to be more of Kirche's type of thing, not a (perceived as) somewhat shy and reserved girl.

Saito kind of annoys me a little bit too. He doesn't really act cool enough to be getting this kind of "play." I wish he'd drop the obvious joke/insult commentary sometimes and just be a NICE GUY.

Also Tabitha :(

Taco Sep 2, 2006 10:24 PM

No kidding, I was kinda surprised by that little episode XD

Spoiler:
Even still, I want Saito to end up with Siesta even though I know that's not gonna happen D: Commoners ftw

Mojougwe Sep 3, 2006 12:50 PM

Spoiler:
I hope Saito remainds trapped in this magical world forever. Then he can start a rebellion with the Princess and Louise. Commoner uprising, do you need it? With Siesta by his side, victory is surely at hand!

Although, I'm surprised there weren't any questions like, "Hey Saito, why are you cooking yourself? I don't see any chopped vegetables. Nor do you have enough firewood to really turn this boiler up!"

El Ray Fernando Sep 6, 2006 08:12 AM

I have read that this series has 13 episodes, so either quite likely it will have an abrupt ending or less likely a second season.

The next 3 episodes to be aired being (10-12):

Spoiler:
10. The Princess' Request

11. Louise's Marriage

12. The Zero's Secret Treasure

Sakabadger Sep 7, 2006 04:18 PM

Well, this series is based off a series of novels, so I doubt it will have an "abrupt" ending. It'll end as per the ending of a novel (or with an original ending, a la Haruhi) and there'll be plenty of source left for a second season (WE HOPE).

Episode 10:

Spoiler:
SIESTA HAET SAITO. When she was kind of trembling all over I thought she was trying not to laugh (she seems like a very easy-going personality type) but o noes, she was actually mad! Poor Saito. Of course you'll end with Louise, but don't make Siesta mad!

Louise's deredere phase was cute, anyway. Nopan! How daring ;_;

Tails Sep 20, 2006 02:59 PM

SLOW-BITE has finally put out Episode 11 (no word from Kuroneko yet), so rejoice!

I am kinda upset with the way it looks like it's going to end with Louise x Saito for good. Needs more Saito x Siesta or Kirche or something ;___;.

Stupid Louise.

Well I'm officially done with this anime, and I only made it to episode 11. It took the wrong direction far too soon.

Spoiler:
Saito and Louise KISSED!!! :aargh: :cussing:

Oh come on now! It's only episode 11 and they're already kissing. It would make sense if this is a 13 episode show, but it doesn't look like it's shaping up to be only 13 considering all the unanswered questions about how Earth and that new world are connected. Therefore, it's too soon.

Kirche and Siesta were completely removed from the love circle out of nowhere. That was one of the best parts about this anime, and yet it all just seemed to end.

And am I the only one who thinks Louise is a terrible choice for a girlfriend anyway? She treats Saito like garbage 80% of the time anyway and she's not even attractive (unless you like the "bratty rich girl" look).

The love between them was developed in 2 episodes. Other episodes lightly touched on it briefly, but this was just rushed. What happened in 11 was last episode material. It's not even at the halfway mark yet -_-

So I can see what will happen from here on. Saito and Louise will continue a love-hate relationship (but more love than hate). Kirche will continue to flirt a bit but Saito will just completely blow her off until she falls in love with some other guy that randomly comes along, making Kirche forget she ever liked Saito at all. Siesta will become the "good friend" who "just happens" to find herself in a "questionable" situation with Saito, only to get Louise mad and Siesta's heart broken in the end time and time again.

The rest of the plot will probably deal with the baddies mentioned in Episode 11. Once they're defeated, Saito will have the option of going home or staying with Louise, and he'll stay with Louise. The end.

I really did like this anime a lot and I always looked forward to the newest episode...but 11 killed it for me, and I'll probably stop viewing it now until I find some interesting new development that would get me wanting to watch it again.

sjcrik Sep 26, 2006 02:22 AM

well, it is only 13 episodes long so that seems about right. even thou it coulda been expanded to cover 26 or more episodes (which i wish they did), looks like they decided to throw everything together into the last 2 or 3 episodes. pretty typical of a lot of 12/13 episode series =/

Sakabadger Sep 27, 2006 04:20 AM

I'm just gonna toss out that Saito and Louise kiss like TWO SECONDS INTO THE OPENING ANIMATION. If there was ever any doubt about what the final coupling was going to be, well, I thought it was pretty obvious.

PREDICTIONS FOR EPISODE 13:

Spoiler:
Since Zero no Tsukaima is based off a series of novels, I think it's fairly obvious that Saito's going to be sticking around Tristein for a while. However, I don't think it would be lame like "SAITO WE NEED YOU COME BACK FROM JAPAN" (a la the Narnia series), so I figure this time around he's going to stay there.

They'll naturally be able to reproduce enough fuel for the Zero to fly. Albion is waging war against Tristein. Tristein needs a weapon. HAY THE ZERO IS A WEAPON.

Saito will pilot the Zero against Albion, but CLIMAX! The solar eclipse will show up, but Louise will have her life threatened at the same time. Does Saito go home, or does he save Louise?

Obviously, he'll save Louise ("because I'm your familiar!") but wreck the Zero in the process, thus destroying any chance of getting back. Louise will be like "BUT SAITO" and he'll be like "nah it's cool" and they'll kiss and we'll just mope around til season 2 comes. Hooray!

Doesn't make it any less terrible.

Also I hate the OP, a lot. Skip through it every time.
