Acid already mentioned the stuff in Superman Returns, but wasn't there also a road sign in Batman Begins that pointed towards Metropolis? I swear I remember Metropolis being mentioned in one of the Batman films - I'm probably getting them mixed up.

Concerning "Batman vs. Superman"... eh, I'll believe when I see it. I wonder if Christian Bale would even go for that.

Don't we already have a Batman/Superman movie? I think it was called 'World's Finest'. TAS ftw.

In Batman Forever, after Bruce takes Dick in (giggle) and he's about to leave he says "the circus must be halfway to Metropolis by now".

I think Bale has more sense than to go for something like this. He's always said he doesn't act for the money and has turned down major roles in the past that would've made him piles of cash. If the script/plot is shit, he won't do it. As for Routh, well, i'm kinda sick of seeing super "men" being depicted as super "boys" with their hollywood-waxed emasculated looks. So no, I wouldn't watch such a movie; i'm not too keen on the current superman in case anyone hadn't noticed :P.

Well,it's not like Superman has been clean-shaven for 68 years or anything.

I was talking more of a recent trend, since "Lois and Clarke" or whatever it was called. Here in England it was called "The New Adventures of Superman". Dean Cain is a pretty boy, but not as pretty as Routh or the guy from "Smallville". I mean, slap on some chaps and a cowboy hat and you've got the missing member of the Village People.

Agreed, that was awesome. I never seen Supes take a beating like that ever.

I oppose the Batman/Superman movie but considering Hollywood... Comic book movies are a BIG hit and they're going to keep going at it, so comic hero crossover stories are very likely... There haven't been any movies like that yet but I'm sure they gonna do it soon..

How could you have a Batman v.s. Superman movie? I mean, I'm not too keen on comics, but wouldn't Superman OWN Batman?

I mean, the way I look at it, Superman can't be hurt by anything that's not kryptonite. Batman, on the other hand, is just a man with gadgets.

...come on.

Batman has owned Supes on many occasions. Yeah, he's a man with gadgets, but he's willing to take it one step further that Supes ever would. Read The Dark Knight Returns or Batman: Hush and watch the worlds greatest detective beat the snot out of supes.

Superman has also given Batman kryptonite incase he ever went rogue. Batman has synthesized more of it.

I want to point out that Hush didn't so much contain a smackdown, but Batman evading him long enough to "heal" him.

He cracked him with a kryptonite ring, blasted him with hypersonics, blinded him, zapped him with the entire Metropolis power grid, and threw his woman off a building.

I'd say that's a smackdown.

But essentially couldn't Superman just sneak up on Batman and crush him with like one hit?

Misogynyst Gynecologist Aug 24, 2006 07:32 PM

Batman is the sneaky one, so he'd totally know if someone was coming up on him.

Yes. But Batman had contingency plans in place to prevent anything like that from ever happening.

Also, no one can sneak up on Batman. If he can sneak up on Clark, Clark can't sneak up on him.

Bryan Singer should have stuck with X-Men and not have caused the 3rd film to be screwy.
