Why people buy from Dell? I'll tell you, for the same reason I did so tonight. We are lazy and need them to configure the PC for us. Well, that is my excuse anyway... :D

Yes, but let us never mention the iBook that burst into flames in someone's house weeks before the Dell!

That would just be sacrilegious!

In case anyone wants an idea for some Dell vengeance. When I was working as a customer service representative for a help desk company, a girl dropped her Dell Latitude 510 off at the office saying that it wouldn't work. One of the head supervisors opened the laptop and all of a sudden a troop of cochroaches scrambled out of the laptop! It was like "Joe's Apartment" inside the help desk portion of the building. The girl claimed that the laptop was like that ever since the company issued it to her, but she had to pay over $300 to repair it. Still, it was funny to see the expression on my boss' face.

I'm more into HP myself, but the computers that are given to the workers at my new employment are all Dell laptops. They were originally going to get laptops that were really thin and almost indestructable, but the company that made them was bought by an Asian company and the CIO decided that it would be beneficial to see how well they do for a few years, so we were stuck with the giant Dell laptops. Frankly, I think it is b/c it's cheaper in bulk and that's why the got those instead of the other laptops.
