lol. how about a percentage? i would consider myself 75% A and 25% B. i'm a game collector so i really don't have enough time to finish what i get my hands on, but if i find a game that catches my attention, i'll reflect the attention back in strobes depending on how much time i have on my hands. giving significantly more attention to it than the rest of my games.

I personally enjoy socializing with A type gamers because they might have something of my flavor up their sleeve that i wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. Not to mention, they usually aren't very picky when it comes to playing something different.

Bs are great to hang around when i need to catch on to a certain type of game cause usually they have the hints and knowhow to push me in the right direction. being an A type gamer, its good to have some Bs to push me through the games faster with the advice and whatnot, but the B in me says "do it yourself you lazy punk!".
this is however as long as the B is willing to get off their throne in order to lend a hand...which leads to my dissatisfaction with B type players.

the only thing i don't like about Bs is the weight of the ego. usually the greater the skill of the B the haughtier the attitude, which may potentially conjure biases and a superior attitude: making it more difficult to connect with them.

I'll just come out and say type B. The reason is, is it's like people who rent movies all the time, but when you try to talk to them about a film they just saw they can only say, "Yeah when that stuff blew up it was cool!" but can't really have a deep discussion about anything...

For some games like Castlevania: SoTN I don't think I've found everything even though I've played through it a lot. Games like Civilization cater to this playstyle since there's not much to "complete" the game except playing a game on the super hardest mode with all the civilizations. Even then it's not really done.

To a certain extent it has prevented me from picking up newer current gen games. Or even systems. I've held off on getting a DS/PSP/GBA, but I'll get around to it eventually though. After I've caught up on some PS2 games.

Indeed.

I respect both gamers. They each have their own way of doing things, and thats fine.

I'm definately a B. I play my SNES, NES (just bought back Crystalis), and PS more than my XBOX. I love the RPGs on the SNES, and NES always has a bunch of old games I like to pick up and play from time to time. Playstation has a plethora of good games that are very deep and have alot of replay value(as above mentioned, SotN, FF:T, and Civ2). I love to play games like Civ, Black and White, Populous, and Morrowwind over and over to see what I have yet to find. If I had the extra money, I'd probably shift more into Gamer A/B balance.

I actually respect A gamers more, because I think that they're more open to playing anything and aren't going to mindlessly bash on things that they don't like. A B gamer is a great person to ask for help in a game that they like, but I'd much rather have discussions on gaming in general with an A gamer.

This thread is awesome.

I'm also a Type A, and I agree. Narrow tastes in any medium annoy me. And who likes playing multiplayer with a B except other B's?

I'm a Person A most of the time, mostly because I am up to my neck in the different games I'm playing. I'm playing anywhere from 10-15 different games at once. There are some games I don't play for a year or 2 because I get sidetracked with other games, but I always want to come back and beat it. I make it a goal to beat the game if I have it, even if I don't even like it all that much. There are a handful of games though, that I will play through from start to finish several times and go for 100%, only because I like the game so much. There are only a few of those.

If I was a kid again, and didn't have any money, I would be a B type player all the way because I would really have no choice. But since I have some money now, and will buy any game if I want it, it's hard the concentrate on 1 game enough to play it many times, unless it is VERY good.
