YES. Heating the dinners on the heater is simple, but I never gave it thought. As for time, yeah, I really tried making the alarm clock useful, but I guess it isn't. Technology is just too good these days. ^_^
I made the room small for a reason, and the microwave big for a reason. So you better get used to deficating in a corner and staying as far away from it as you can. Unless you can think of an ingenius Macgyver way to get rid of it with what's provided (I can't). |

It was never about escape. It's about using your resources, and seeing what people value in this day and age. Besides, if you escape, you'll just find yourself in a larger, more hideous room, where the power outlets are not from your region.

But I AM using my resources!

I'd take the heater for warmth and cooking. Frozen dinners are so packed with preservatives that I wouldn't be concerned with their going bad. I'd also take the giant TV, for light, entertainment, and time (CNN or something would have that I think).
|
When I first started reading it I thought of Saw, the movie. I'd take the microwave, since that can cook the food you're going to eat, and then you can just turn it on to warm up the room. And then if there is Internet, then I'd take the laptop, then I can get on AIM and tell people I'm hostage and come rescue me or something... At least I could play games while I wait? I dunno.
|
So uh...what happens when you run out of stuff to throw in the microwave? I guess you can keep the thing plugged in with the door open, and I dunno, the LIGHT might provide some (almost none) warmth, but I'm pretty sure it's really bad for a microwave to just cook while there is nothing in there. I'm too lazy to confirm that, though.

You guys are going to love mine.
The 70" TV and the mini-fridge. The TV will provide heat, light, and entertainment. As others have said, the frozen dinners can be eaten thawed, and I only eat one meal a day anyway. And then I'd use the trays and boxes for my "waste" and store them in the mini-fridge so they won't smell. |
I just don't get why people think they can use the microwave for heat.
The only heat you're going to get from this is by being really close to the vents. Microwaves don't work when the door is open and you wouldn't want to do that anyway, wouldn't that seriously mess up your body? |
I'd take the laptop for entertainment, and as several have said, for heat, and the microwave for the food. I also don't eat very much, so 3 or 4 TV dinners should be fine for me. It'd be a little difficult, but if I had to, I could probably ration them out to make them last longer.
|
I'd definately take the laptop because I would die of boredom before anything else otherwise. Also the stereo, because I don't use the internet to listen to music all that much and I couldn't go four days without it. I'd use the ice as a source of water and I could wait for the food to thaw out, maybe put it by the laptop. The temperature and the darkness wouldn't bother me in the slightest.
|
I would likely take the laptop and a laptop. connection to the outside and games galore online! I'd use the lava lamp as a small light and if they let me I'd take it with me when I leave.

Of course, this is a lot of the reason why I'd choose to fast. I know I wouldn't be able to hold it for four days. >_< |
The heater and the DS. The heater to cook the food/ heat me up, the DS to play. Im good for 4 days.
