Is it just me or did they make it really difficult, my guess is this would justify the title Hyper Fighting title. :eyebrow: I hopped right into 7-star difficulty and well, I'm still a long ways to go.

SpaceInsomniac. Aug 2, 2006 07:06 PM

It's a port of the arcade version, and the arcade was always way harder than the home version. If you doubt me, play the SNES rom, and then play the MAME rom. With both set at either standard difficulty or even one star, the arcade will kick your ass WAY more than the SNES version. It's a shame really. Between me not playing this for years, and having to fight the 360's shitty D-pad, I'd have much rather seen a port of the SNES difficulty levels rather than the arcade original. Still, online play is FAR better than I thought it would be. That and hotseat is all you really need. Screw the single player.

T1249NTSCJ Aug 3, 2006 08:52 AM

Just finished it this morning, took me about half an hour with the difficulty set up to maximum. I honestly couldn't see a difference between 1 star difficulty or 7, I just finished it for the first time today knocking out two birds with one stone. :)
Dhalsim has got to be the friendliest fighter of the bunch but what surprised me was how easy the 3 fighters before Bison were when compared to say...Ken, Ryu or Guile. :eyebrow: And if you're wondering, yes...Bison is still a bastard. :lolsign:

Symphony of the Night Heads to XBLA
PSOne's best? Castlevania heading to Xbox Live.
by Luke Smith, 08/03/2006

Kaz Hirai's triumphant warcry of "Riiiiiidge Racer" on the PSP led people to believe other key PSOne titles would soon be heading to the PSP via emulation. Apparently Konami missed the memo, as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is making its way to Xbox Live Arcade.

The September issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (issue: 207) reports:

Konami is resurrecting the cult PS1 game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on Xbox Live Arcade. Along with SOTN, Konami is also bringing back other classic hits, some revered (Frogger, Contra, Super Contra, Track & Field) some obscure (Time Pilot), and some really obscure (Scramble).

When will SOTN head to XBLA? Representatives from Konami told 1UP that the game is tenatively slated for a Q1 2007 release on XBLA.
Oh shit.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Aug 3, 2006 06:53 PM

That game woudln't have leaderboards or co-op, so it doesn't make sense.

It'll also be a fucking GINORMOUS download.

I like how by the time I buy a second hard drive, the first one will literally be full of 500 arcade games at this rate.

JasonTerminator Aug 3, 2006 07:33 PM

This would be much, much hotter if they remade Dracula X for the 360 arcade as well. I wanna play the game, but I don't want to go through the trouble of emulating it.

Solis Aug 4, 2006 11:38 AM

Dead Rising demo is now on the marketplace.

T1249NTSCJ Aug 4, 2006 05:06 PM

When I get back I'll have to download it, I do hear that the file is 1GB but exactly how many minutes of gameplay is on it or should I just wait on gamefly come August 8.

SpaceInsomniac. Aug 5, 2006 12:52 AM

You can end it in under a minute or two if you enter the right door, or you can play for quite some time killing everything you see. This isn't like the Prey demo where you'll have to replay damn near an hour of the game once you buy/rent the full version.

T1249NTSCJ Aug 5, 2006 10:39 AM

I was roaming free to see how long can it go until the demo comes to a close and once the clock strikes 7PM in the game, lights out. The zombies alter to low level crimson heads I would say. That would make the game more intense if that does in fact take place. :asthanos:

Update: As of today 8/9, Pac-Man was uploaded on the XBL Marketplace. Should be an easy 200 points.

More good news, tomorrow should bring a demo of Just Cause, and a second demo of Test Drive.

Solis Aug 24, 2006 08:18 AM

Just Cause demo is now available on the the marketplace, at about 630 megs.

Incredible Machine For XBLA
Quote:

The document also reveals a great deal of previously unknown information on Vivendi's strategy, including confirmation of many unannounced titles from the company's Sierra Online division. These include Xbox 360 Live Arcade title Megaforce for this year, alongside Xbox 360 Live Arcade and PC SKUs of 3D Ultra Mini Golf, as well as PC and Xbox 360 Live Arcade titles based on classic puzzler The Incredible Machine in 2007.
That's a long way away, but still INCREDIBLE

Kilroy Sep 1, 2006 01:49 AM

Oh, god. Incredible Machine. I came. Twice!

On a related note; some game, a shmup, called Time Pilot has attacked the Arcade. 400 points is the price.

T1249NTSCJ Sep 25, 2006 05:29 PM

A bunch of updates on the XBL Marketplace most notably is a playable demo of FEAR. Zipped through it in about 5 minutes and I'll be downloading the PC version for sure.

Grundlefield Earth Sep 25, 2006 06:50 PM

And you would be foolish because that was the demo released a long time before E3. It has already been confirmed to have better graphics and more features. for the 360. People seriously take demos too seriously.

(I have not played the demo, but even so, I read this issue and was smart enough to not even bother wiith it).

T1249NTSCJ Sep 25, 2006 07:10 PM

Well playing FPS games on console has always been 2nd nature to me. I much prefer the controls of a mouse and keyboard over a controller anyday. As for visuals, well that depends on your PC setup. I plan on playing this game on max settings once this download goes through. 1280x1024 > 1280x720. :)

Slayer X Oct 3, 2006 06:19 PM

Just so that everyone knows Totem Ball releases tomorrow.

Cat9 Jan 27, 2007 10:33 PM

Everyone probably already knows, but the Breakdown demo was put up recently

value tart Feb 8, 2007 12:59 AM

Root Beer Tapper came out today!

It's a really crappy arcade game that goes for 400 MSP!

Don't get it!

Gixah Feb 14, 2007 08:57 AM

February 14th -- today's Live Arcade title is:

Paperboy!

Still the scariest game imaginable. I still frown at the fact that many people are willing to go out of their way to keep this paperboy from delivering a newspaper. Beware the Brutish Breakdancer.

DBCE Slayer Feb 17, 2007 05:43 AM

There's several new themes & Gamerpics packs released. FEAR just recently released a Dark theme, Battlestar Galactica has a theme and Gamerpic pack. A free Borat Theme and Gamerpic pack was released.

Cat9 Mar 21, 2007 07:27 AM

Castlevania: SOTN should be out today in Xbox Live!

TMNT out last week!

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor May 12, 2007 02:35 PM

I was thinking. This thread is mighty useless in it's current iteration, and could use a recreation with a tighter focus. I'll work on it when I get back from work.

Could it get destickied?
