No idea how long it was, but when I was a scout we walked to the camp. We left 9AM and when we got there it was getting dark. There were only a few stops on the way ;(

I've done 50 miles in two days a couple of times, while carrying about 25 pounds on me, which was pretty tough. I'm in training for this year's Nijmegan march, so I have to walk pretty far. The actual event itself is in a couple of months time where I have to do 100 miles in 4 days. Ouch. However, at least most of the walk will be on fairly flat ground, but it's still going to be extremely tough.

I manged 5 miles once. From the nearest town to home. I didn't have any money for the bus fare so i just walked it. Only took me 1hr 20mins.

I think it was 20 miles.
I walked a trail from the base of a mountain to its peak, and I think it was something around 10 miles one way - so 10 x 2 = 20. |
I take a brisk, 50 minute walk every morning, and I enjoy random mountain trail hikes with my family, but I've never really bothered to find out the length.
Though, I've found my mind wanders very easily when I'm in an urban surrounding. For example, if I'm just walking between classes at the university, I'm usually so deep in thought that I pass my friends without noticing them. They think I'm being intentionally rude ;_; But yes - if it's a nature trail, I hate walking with other people. I usually leave my friends/family behind and walk off ahead. Another person just bugs me and asks stupid questions and tries to start a conversation when I just want to enjoy the scenery =/ |

YEA YEA I walked the exact same mountain, I finished about 8 bottles of water going up and rolled both my ankles going down...and half way through I used the bathroom lol (what...I couldn't help it lol) that's right woot woot! One more thing, there was a slight drizzle when I did it. |
i think the farthest i walked in 1 go was around 20 miles. i once walked 80 miles in the mountains (including the peak of the 3rd highest mountain in new mexico) carrying 50 pounds on my back but that was over the course of 10 days.

Errr, well I remember hiking in and out of a dormant volcano, I think the trip in total was 7 miles could have been more though

Walking around the Alton Towers theme park was probably my longest time spent walking. If I had to put it into a time frame, it would be about 5-7 hours worth of walking. That theme park is BIG.
Although, one day when my parents were away on holiday I had decided to walk to town from our house since I had no money for a taxi. We live about 15 minutes driving distance from the town centre so it took me about an hour to get there by walking. Even though it didn't take very long, it still felt as though I had walked all day trying to get to the town centre. |
The longest would probably be the 20 miles I put in hiking at the Shiloh national park here. Runner up would be the 7-10 or more miles I put in after getting lost in Germany, wandering around a while before realizing I'm in the wrong town, and having to hoof it back to where I was trying to go.

Damn I'm tired of having to convert miles in kilometers to keep up with this thread... and no I haven't walked that much.
