I don't really move from gameplay, except to adjust my position. I'm usually on the flo', just because since elementary school the floor has always been the most comfy place, like to do homework, to eat,to watch Power Rangers and X-Men and Saturday Morning cartoons, and also to play NES.
Depending on the game, I'll yell out stuff. If I'm playing something more competitive, I'll jump around or raise my fists like Michael Jordan and Rip Hamilton in this old Wizards poster. |
Sometimes during fighters like SSBM I tend to swing my controller around when I'm trying to land a hit or something, especially if victory hangs in the balance. I also tend to twist the controller like a steering wheel during racers, I know it doesn't do shit for me in-game but it helps my psyche along. Other times when I'm playing shooters and I'm not taking the game seriously I just sit in my chair in wierd positions (kinda like the pic on the OP) until I get killed and I let loose a shitload of explicitives and then I sit up right and hunt down the bastard for retribution.

Whenever I'm playing any kind of racing game and I need to turn more sharply or something, I'll shift my body in that direction like I'll actually be able to make my car turn better or something.
I do pretty much the same thing while dodging attacks in FPSs. - WraithTwo - |
when i play , i'm in my bed , i don't move...

Oh, absolutely.
"Maybe it's just the people I play with but our Smash Bros games can get very animated." Right on, RAB. That's a sign of good friends, right there. We'll yell at each other and laugh and jump up and down if we're nervous, punch each other mid-match (though usually with a respectful pause), scream and yell insults or jokes at one another. I have one friend who's as good as I am, and we'll face off sometime (just him and me, no items, on Final Destination). That's awesome, because it gets so ridiculously intense. People will gather around to watch us duke it out. Most games I'm not too physical with. I'll always, ALWAYS laugh at a game if I find something even remotely funny. I think it's best to be immersed and interactive in a physical sense, too, it adds to the game. Zombie-players annoy me, sometimes (though I can get like that at times). I love playing with my friend James, even if he's just watching me, because he'll crack jokes constantly. It's awesome. Most games, yeah I'm at least a little physical. I'll bite my hand if I get really pissed (won't throw my controller). Sometimes I move in the direction I'm headed, or lean in toward the screen. I'll talk to people in the game, particularly with stuff like Pikmin, or yell insults at enemies. I have tons of fun playing games :tpg: This is why I love DK: JB so much. That game sucks up all the energy I have when I play games, it's awesome. |
As far I know, I hardly ever move about when playing. I think sitting still is what keeps my mind focused on the game rather than flailing about and causing distractions for myself or others. Though, I do occaisionally move when I'm a bit un-eased with a certain situation that is arising in the game. For example, if theres a certain puzzle that has you remember certain movements, well I'll use my feet to help me remember the motion of the character. It counds odd, but it helps me out, so I'm not going to complain.

If I'm playing with friends, and we're trying to get through a level, I swear violently when I die. Must burn off a few pounds at least. :D

I normally don't move around a whole lot when I'm playing games by myself. I used to do that alot when I was younger. Now the only time I ever get animated is when a get a few of my friends over. When they're over we end up yelling and swearing at each other from across the room.

When things start getting difficult I usually sit up straight rather than lean forward-type motion, I would never have a reason to get up/move or anything like that.
