It'd be in your best interests to play it through. It's a wonderful game
|
Well, as far as I played. The game was a bit odd. The battling system seems so...off.
I barely considered it battling. |
"Odd"? It played out like Dragon Warrior/Quest-- that is to say, it plays out like the most traditional turn-based RPG battle system ever designed.
|
Battling in Earthbound is a bore, but so is every turn-based RPG. Everything else makes up for it, a brilliant game.
|
The odd comment was directed towards the game itself. I've thought it was odd that you actually had a fly-like character in your party and a scared kid who did nothing but cower. (That was the best part of the experience :p).
As for the battling system. I'm Really, Really, Really out of the RPG loop. Mario RPGs are the only RPGs that I really ever play. I thought the Battling system was "off" because the way the fly basically could beat up everyone in one hit. The fly was too powerfull for it's own good. :( I don't really know much else about the game after the first Boss Battle though. That's when things with the Emulator went wrong. |
You should actually try the game out. The trial you gave it gives it no justice
|
Well, I would have continued it if my Save wasn't bad. I plan of buying it on the Revolution and finishing it then.
Besides, I hate playing games on Emulators when I could play it on a console. |

Ha, me too. With the exception of currently playing Earthbound, and the Fire Emblem series (strategy RPG isn't quite the same). |
This is out already?

you do realize that the fly came from the future, right? And that he has psychic powers, which is why he's powerful? Having a powerful ally in the beginning is a common RPG convention. It allows the player to get used to the battle system while having a trump card in case they make a mistake. Any time you get such a powerful ally in the beginning, you almost always know that they will leave you sooner rather than later. In any case, you tried the game out anyways, which is a suprise, because anybody who doesn't play RPGs usually doesn't play them because they hate them. Quote:

Earthbound was definitely not like any Mario RPG I've ever played which is why the game alienated me. |
Dude, just go dl the rom and give it a solid play. You'll get into it if you give it a few hours. Give it another shot. You'll enjoy it.
|
Never! As I've said before, I hate playing it on the PC. (So much hand cramping)
I'll just wait to the Revolution comes and play it on that. |
10 bucks at Lik-Sang gets you a PS2-to-USB adapter.
You have no fucking excuse. |
Paying for stuff to play illegal stuff. Ironeez.

Wow, that looks good. It cheaper then I expected. I'll be getting that gamepad sometime so I can have a good PC game experience.
Goodbye Keyboard hand cramps :D |
^_^, that Franklin Badge almost made me buy the deluxe box. Almost
Like, I said "IT'S MINE!" Thankfully, I came to my senses and realized I just couldn't afford it :) |
Can someone reveal the storyline for Mother 3?
I guess you'd put spoiler tags around the info though. |
