I might pick up Soul Calibur 4, Overlord and maybe Lost Planet for the PS3.
|
I wonder if SingStar Vol. 2 is the one with the mics, though regardless of whether it is or not I'll probably end up getting it. I'm actually waiting for the wireless mics to come out over here, but I wouldn't mind being able to actually play the games until that happens (I don't see why they can't just use regular USB mics like every other freaking singing game).
Other than that, I'll probably get a few of the other games as well (SCIV in particular, since I enjoyed the demo but wasn't willing to pay $60 for it at the time, and I'm still not willing to pay the $30 that is is at most places), though I wish some more of the multiplatform were for sale on both systems (DMC4 and SH:H are two I'd definitely get if the PS3 versions were on sale). |
If anyone here does pick up Too Human, I'm always up for a few runs on co-op. I've got a couple of low level characters ready to go and could always start a new bioengineer and go for the unstoppable achievements I've not got yet (All of them except Hall of Heroes, fucking dark elf bastards).
|
I'm definitely getting Pure and Silent Hill on 360. I'm also thinking about Devil May Cry 4 and Quantum of Solace.
Anyone who doesn't have Pure should take this opportunity to get it. I don't even like racing games, except for Mario Kart, but Pure is a very close second, and I think it'd be hilariously fun racing you guys on Live. |
So is this shit "in-store only" or what?

Newegg has a bunch of cheap games though, so if you don't mind paying $5-10 more, you can get a lot of these titles there. |

People who defend Goldeneye need to return to the 1990s to play it. The rest of the world has moved on.
|
Sadly, my main console is still a PS2. If only that PS2 list weren't so crappy... but I guess most PS2 games can be found cheap-ish nowadays, eh?
|
I went, but the majority of the listed 360 games were not available. I got there right when they opened too.

Yeah, same here. Here's my haul in. I don't know why I bought Samba De Amigo...Dreamcast nostalgia, I suppose. The only games on my list that I didn't get were Soul Calibur IV, Too Human and Devil May Cry 4. http://i41.tinypic.com/2cf6t0i.jpg Quantum of Solace was a bonus pack with a free T-Shirt and it was the same price as the regular disc, so I went ahead and grabbed it. |
I am envious of Idlechill's take.
As for me, I was the second one in the door. Fracture and Soul Calibur were not even stocked, which meant the only other thing I was interested in was Silent Hill, which I grabbed. I also got Quake Wars (I haven't played Quake since the first game) and Infinite Discovery since I haven't played a Japanese RPG game in a trillion years. God, I wish I had found Soulcalibur :( |
I tried to get my hands on Infinite Undiscovery and Too Human, but they were nowhere to be found in three different Best Buys in the are. Ended up with Pure for 360, TNA Impact for PS3, and 5 less pounds sweated from 90 degree weather. Guess it wasn't so bad in the end.
|
Wow. At my location (Seekonk, MA) they have LOTS of Soul Calibur 4 for both PS3 and 360; I picked that up for PS3. I was looking everywhere for Quantum of Solace because my brother wants it but they have none. :(
So I got Pure for PS3 instead. It's was fun since I rarely go to any kind of B&M store anymore because I do most of my game shopping at Amazon. :) |
Looks like the stores are randomly stocked: When I asked an employee about some of the other titles, it was revealed that only 1 copy of Soul Calibur IV was at my location (NW part of Phoenix, AZ), meaning it got snatched up right away, and they only had Pure on PS3 (apparently selling more of the 360 version), and they were sold out on Too Human earlier in the morning. They did have a couple copies of Bourne and Infinite though.
At any rate, I ended up getting Quantum of Solace and Universe at War. |
My store had no copies of Soul Calibur or Pure, so I got Quantum of Solace, Silent Hill, and Red Alert 3. I was pretty sad about Pure, but my wife reminded me that Wal-Mart price matches with ads, so I went over there and grabbed it.
Those of you who couldn't find what you wanted at Best Buy might want to print out the ad and check out Wal-Mart. The only problem is the only a few of the games are pictured out of the "over 100", so you may have trouble getting them to let you have things like Quake Wars or Fracture. Either way, it's worth a shot. |
I had to help my old man slang herbs at the Mexican Mall™ this morning so I couldn't get out to check anything out until after 3 pm and, by then, EVERYTHING was gone. Except for two shelves with Rock Revolution (:tpg:) and one copy of PURE; neither of which I was interested in.
Fuck it. Better luck next year, guys! |
The sale is going on until next saturday, so you've got all week. Don't give up hope!
|
The sale was agressive de-stocking. I don't think Best Buy is ordering any more.
|
Probably not, but like I said, Wal-Mart price matches. I may go back later this week after I get paid.
|
I expect all of you who picked up Quantum of Solace to play its multiplayer with me at some point this week. It is surprisingly fun, despite the fact that I'm always put on terrible teams.
