I second this. It seems a bit excessive to nominate another Huelsbeck track so soon. And it sort of makes me think of the eligibility of Huelsbeck tracks in general.

Voting is closed and nominations are restricted!

1). [21] Super Stardust HD (Game Rip) - StarFighting Across The Universe
2). [14] Sega Arcade Selection D-RAM Remix - Sonic [Sega Sonic the Hedgehog Arcade]
3). [12] XIISTAG & Trizeal Perfect Soundtrack - CLOUDY TODAY, AGAIN! TAKE02
4). [11] Master of Monsters - Golden Warrior
5). [10] Wonder Dog (Red Book Audio) - Dogsville
6). [8/6] Epic Pinball The Complete Collection (Game Rip) - Excalibur
7). [8/4.5] Metal Gear 20th Anniversary ~ Metal Gear Music Collection - Zanzibar Breeze
8). [6] American McGee's Alice Original Music Score - Wonderland Woods

Sorry about the hold up in closing, dudes, I was, well I was slacking (Satoshi Kon rules). Outright banning a composer seems dubious to me (same way I'm not really for banning whole series at once), but spacing out the Hülsbeck noms sounds more palatable. But how far apart would satisfactorily spaced out be? I kind of want to be a little fair about this.

How does 4 weeks from appearances sound? So, a person could be able to nominate 3 weeks after a Huelsbeck track appears. Or maybe not even a strict week number; perhaps if we just make people aware of the issue, they'll space their Huelsbeck noms out accordingly.

Also, nice result.

Sure, bring it up exactly when I have to nominate. >_> You guys sure like to mess up my noms... Not to mention that I originally had nominated a Hülsbeck track a while ago and it was shot down for no good reason (when just one person was against it). True, it was from Turrican II, but it wasn't the highly pronounced title theme; it's not like Turrican music is that well known.

I'll see what I can do. -_-;

EDIT: If you must change it... D<

Artist: Konami
Game Title: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters (Genesis Game Rip)
Track Title: April O'Neil's Stage
Year: 1993
Additional Information: Not sure if Project 2612 is correct on the composer info; I just took the info from the tag.

Maybe we should let it slide this time, since choosing a new nom will hold up this week's voting even more--with the understanding that people should be a little more cautious with noms from that composer in the future.

Congratulations Crash. I believe you nominated the Super Stardust HD song? Also, congratulations to whomever nominated the Sonic track. It was a nice week overall, and although some of the songs I liked didn't place, they still were an entertaining listen.

No, I didn't have a nomination up this week. My next nomination is on hold since I'm currently in another city, living in a place without reliable internet access. Even when I get out to a wi-fi spot, as I am now, I'm reliant upon my laptop's built-in speakers, which aren't great. I can barely make out the basslines in some tracks, let alone hear over the crowds at some hours, so I don't feel comfortable voting based upon what I think a song sounded like.

I'll probably go back and save the current entries to my hard drive while I'm able, though. I can always delete them if they suck.

ZiggyGo Nov 18, 2008 01:36 PM

Ah yes. It was CHz. I should have checked before assuming.

Drakken Nov 19, 2008 03:33 PM

I didn't expect Excalibur to get a ton of points (doesn't help that I didn't get around to voting this week), so I guess I'm satisfied. I just hope at least one other person thinks 1:05 - 1:35 is AWESOME.

orion_mk3 Nov 19, 2008 05:13 PM

So...are we near to a resolution on the songs for next week?

I know we could probably get the thread up Sunday at noon and still have full participation, but I'm always nervous that some gossamer link will inadvertently be broken and the event will end forever :)

ZiggyGo Nov 19, 2008 06:04 PM

I think we are. I was up for voting again, but after checking the queue today, I noticed I was bumped (the Hulsbeck nomination was changed) to the following week. I would assume that it's safe to go.

Actually I've missed the last two months of tracks due to slacking off (sorry, I have other priorities). I'll need to re-set up my program that I had running which automatically downloads them.

Yeah, let's do this with Epsilon's replacement nom, since he was kind enough to provide one. We can continue talking about if four weeks between Hülsbeck noms sounds fair.

Djinova Nov 20, 2008 07:23 AM

Yeah, 4 weeks for 1st seems allright. If you want to go further, make it 4 weeks for any placings from 3rd onward. On the other hand, if Chris Hülsbeck is just an exception of the rule, we don't need any rules, just clear him out on personal judgment like here. No need to make additional rules, as it's just going to be additional management work.
Personally though, I'd not blink even if Chris Hülsforwerd won 10 times straight, but this was for the sake of the other opinion.
