I know this guy, one Ignatius J. Reilly, who took a Greyhound Scenicruiser from his native New Orleans on a trip to Baton Rouge. He insists adamantly that it was one of the worst experiences of his life, though I'm a little fuzzy on exactly what made it so horrible. Moreover, he is prone to exaggeration. Nonetheless, I heed his advice and avoid Greyhound like the plague.

Isn't that like an hour away distance wise? It can't be that bad can it now...

I rode on a really nice train once from New York to Washington, DC; maybe they have a similar route going from Maine to New York. If so I would suggest that, trains are far more comfortable for longer trips than buses are...

I thought you meant Portland, Oregon at first; that would really be an awful trip going by bus...

Well it really depends if you ride in the front with all the senior citizens who talk you to death or in the very back next to the shithouse which you can smell from about midway of the buss to the seat located right next to it.

Typicaly the lower class take busses as opposed to Planes or Trains.

I traveled by GH Bus. When I was in Cadets we used to travel all the time by bus it was pretty cool :) I prefer to be traveling by bus instead of a train or even a car :P

Bah, I wouldn't recommend the Greyhound Bus unless it's absolutely necessary...

Based on my past experience with them, it just plain sucks, period.
