Yeah, they said they were re-designing it. I'm just waiting for them to announce the price tags, various accessories and surprises they have for their systems to finally know what I'll buy.

But, seriously, with a Blu-Ray Player inside that thing, it's gotta be 600-700$CAN. Which is a little fortune. And isn't worth it.

Mucknuggle Apr 1, 2006 04:19 PM

I was actually willing to give the boomerang a chance. Similar controllers were supposedly very comfortable. I think that the PS3 will be announced as being the same price as the 360.

Now I can sleep at night.

Adamgian Apr 1, 2006 04:21 PM

Just waiting for some Revolution and PS3 news. I want to see some actual games on show.

Oh well though, have to wait and see what happens. It'll be an interesting few days though.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but pretty much all the main players that elevated SQUARE to what it is to day are gone. Including most of the guys that developped the original Chrono game, which are with Microsoft now, developping various other RPGs.

BATTROLLER!

Watch Nintendo not so much focus on "Alright guys, this is the Revolution and here are the specs" as the reasoning for going the way they did.

I hope they really press this and sell it well there.

MS: Needs awesome game releases to get any attention.
Sony: It'll be interesting. I'll expect some surprises along with N.

Tappy Apr 1, 2006 04:48 PM

Most of all I'm hoping for the unveiling of an original Mario game for the Revolution!
A Mario game that will totally turn the gaming world upside down....just like Mario 64 once did!

Other then, this my looking-forward-to-list:
--Nintendo Revolution & the unveiling of Revolution games
--Metal Gear Solid 4
--Playstation 3 news

And I'm hoping for:
--a new Banjo Kazooie/Conker game for the XBOX360
--Final Fantasy XIII
--a new Paper Mario game
--a worthy Starfox game on the Revolution or Nintendo DS
--a new game by the ICO/Collosus team
--Silent Hill 5
--a new Mario Kart game

Wall Feces Apr 1, 2006 04:49 PM

If the PS3 is any less than $500 I'll be completely shocked. I'm expecting $549 for JUST the system, $69 per game, and then of course the $5499 value pack with EVERY GAME AND ACCESSORY LOL.

Sony for the lose.

SketchTheArtist Apr 1, 2006 06:22 PM

My hopes for E3 '06:

- Killer Instinct 3 for XBOX 360
- More details on Resident Evil 5
- Killer Instinct 1 or 2 (or both) for Xbox Live Arcade
- Halo Movie details
- Halo 3 details
- Alan Wake details with a definitive relase date
- Max Payne 3 announcement with REMEDY developping it

If half of that is a reality, then I'll be happy! :edgartpg:

Elixir Apr 1, 2006 06:35 PM

Killer Instinct 3, with Rare being under the influence of Microsoft, will probably turn out horrible.

People somehow managed to pull off 48 hit combos on the original Killer Instinct with an SNES controller, which made absolutely no sense. The N64 controller was far better, as it had 6 buttons, much like a Saturn controller. If you're going to be using a 360 controller for any Killer Instinct title, well I just don't know how on earth that would work.

It's never happening though so don't worry.

Wall Feces Apr 1, 2006 06:54 PM

I personally wouldn't mind seeing another KI title hit the market... I thought the originals were pretty decent. But as Elixer said, with Rare being under MS's thumb, it'll probably be a dumbed down Dead or Alive 4, which is already retarded as it is.

Yggdrasil Apr 2, 2006 02:00 AM

I guess I'm just waiting for news on the PS3 and the revolution. More details about Twilight Princess, Halo 3 and news on whether or not Xenosaga I&II DS is coming stateside would be nice too.

Mucknuggle Apr 2, 2006 08:21 AM

I'm actually really curious to see what the PS3 controller re-design looks like. I was one of the 2 people that didn't mind the boomerang. I wonder if they're just going to go back to the old Dual Shock design?

Probably. Just put a receiver in the controller, lose the cable and get another form of force feedback and they're set. Developers have been testing their games using the Dual Shock 2, so we know it's at least close to that.

BTW, according to the GDC specs, 7.1 channel audio is done through the GPU (RSX) and all the Blu-Ray functions are controlled via software instead of the hardware solutions that'll be found in actual players. Of course, doing these things via software often degrades quality, but this is the "Poor Man's Blu-Ray".

I don't expect prices at E3, that'll probably show up around TGS even though the announcement may not have as big an impact then.

projectg Apr 2, 2006 03:58 PM

one word: Revolution

thats it for me.

Wall Feces Apr 2, 2006 04:12 PM

Another thing... Where the hell has FFVII: Crisis Core been? They HAVE to show that at E3 at this point.

The land of ghost and wind, playing golf with Duke Nukem Forever and sipping tea With StarCraft: Ghost.

I would like to see an update on Crisis but am also anticipating the usual, namely all PS3 info, all Revolution info, a MGS4 trailer, and some formal announcement of Halo 3's existence.

I am also hoping for some word on Zone of the Enders, either for next gen or for handhelds. I know this is a long shot because Kojima productions is busy toiling away on MGS4, but I loved both ZOE games and would really love to see a new one.

Agreed... While they were short, they were both awesome experiences overall. Imagine how insane ZOE would be on a next gen system?

Helloween Apr 2, 2006 10:07 PM

My wishlist.

- the promise of another Chrono game (and while they're at it, they can replace some old growth forests.)
- details on Final Fantasy XII
- details on Revolution
- information that will finally sway my opinion on PS3
- details on Resident Evil 5
- a promise that Resident Evil 5 will be on Revolution
- good looks at Metroid Prime for Revolution
- Disciples II: Dark Prophecy for the DS (it was announced, so why hasn't it happened yet?)
- more stuff for DS that i will be attracted to
- Metronome for PS3 (probably the only game for PS3 that has even touched my interest so far other than continuations of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts serises)
- New RPGs that will interest me
- and while we're at it, throw a third Zelda game from Nintendo out there (or go for four and totally blow my mind)

Yeah, i'm a wishful thinker, but i can always dream. If half of this stuff prooves true, then i'll be a very happy man.

Biggest on my list is probably stuff on Revolution. I'm just waiting to get my teeth on one of those.

You're talking about Square-Enix, here. Makers of Crystal Chronicles and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. The core of the earth will shatter before they make a cel-shaded game.

Uhh . . . DragonQuest VIII? Although Level 5 actually did all of the programming . . . it's still a Squenix game.

Elixir Apr 2, 2006 10:52 PM

Actually Level 5 designed it. Square-Enix just released it.

It's like Nippon Ichi. They don't actually make the game, however they release it. Then it's distributed by Atlus and Koei.

Spatula Apr 2, 2006 10:53 PM

Most of what I wanted to see have been posted but I'll post a bit more:

1) Playstation 3 FINAL controller design
2) Playstation 3 launch games and games to follow
3) *HOPEFULLY* Ghost Recond Advanced Warfare for PS3
4) Suggested retail price for PS3
5) More MGS4 trailers and perhaps some still screenshots for me to drool over
6) Grand Theft Auto: whatever for the PS3
7) A few more details for the FFXII confirmed release date for North America, and if there are any special limited editions.
8) Finally some concrete footage/trailers of what the Nintendo Revolution has to offer
