I like how this show is never on. And it doesn't help matters that this season is not that great.

There is a guy in Lost that is in Lord of the Rings right?? Cause my aunt does real-estate on Oahu, and she said she's renting to that guy!!

Yeah, but it's supposed to be a secret, nobody must know that he also played in LOTR.

I think I saw this other guy in Saw, though.

First I thought this series had an alternate level. Like, in a Silent Hill sort of way: people hallucinating or experiencing their fears and hopes on the island or criminals getting what they deserve by going through mentally demanding changes.

Ths was quite accurate, even with the
Spoiler:
polar bears and Walter speaking backwards.
They made sense, when considering his situation in life at the time of the crash. Recently, on the latest episodes of season 2, I don't know if things are the same anymore. I have to see more to make sense of them. I'm hooked even though it's not "artistical quality", just pure entertainment. <3

This is truth. Every character they've tried to "develop" has mostly gotten much more retarded. Characters that had three dimensions now have two. Sawyer, for example. Come on, nobody's 100% dickhead.

My friend and I talk about this new two-dimension all the time. She seems to think he has this complex wherein Sawyer has to be hated. I disagree - I think he likes being revered as some kind of hero, though not regarded as weak.

I have no idea why he wanted control of the guns though. I thought he and Jack had pretty much gotten over their bullshit after the whole raft incident.

Ohhh baby I love it. What do you think it all means?

khan0plinger Mar 3, 2006 09:55 PM

I agree I think Locke threw a fit on purpose. He knew damn well that Gale could hear....and Locke since being on the island has been somewhat of the smarter castaways.

...Oh, well. They looked like the symbols, is all. You only get a couple seconds to see them anyway.

In case anyone was wondering, this is as far as the hieroglyphs got. We never get to see them all:

And anyone notice the Henry Gale reference? Henry Gale of the Wizard of Oz? UNCLE HENRY?

khan0plinger Mar 4, 2006 03:12 AM

There was talk that when the #s did go down that you could hear something starting up, like a turbine. Although I had just thought it was part of the music of Lost.

Double Post:
On another note....so what mysteries still need to be figured out?

I know we still have:

the Dharma people
why the plane crashed
the monster/smoke creature
Henry Gale
Walt
Where Desmond went
The real effect of the #s
The Blast Doors
the computer talking to Michael
Where Michael Went

Im sure there are a few others...no pun intended, im just overlooking them

So far this season we did find out:

Kind of what was in the hatch
What Kate did
Claire's missing block of two weeks
Kind of what the others are
Stuff about Alex
What happened to the tail end people

I dunno, I expected a little more. Still got time to go but im sure a new mystery or two will pop up.

Henry Gale. Mr. Eko. John Locke. Too many coincidents!

Dude, Jack took Sawyer's pills without asking first. What a jerk.

Yeah, son. If you don't visit forums for LOST you're pretty much out of the loop for lots of important stuff. We need nerd's with Hi-Def TiVOs to overanalyze every frame of the show so they can point out that black smoke monster blew up the plane engine (which it didn't, but people STILL talk about it.)

If you want to be in the "know" I recommend The Fuselage. You actually leave questions for the writers/producers there... And you have a 99/100 chance of getting answered!

Just don't visit this forum during/after a new episode. Server apparently can't take the load.

Musharraf Mar 4, 2006 10:04 AM

Isn't that the board where some actors like Terry O'Quinn (John Locke) post as well?

Eleo Mar 4, 2006 01:06 PM

I wouldn't doubt it if that were so... The site's as close to the production team and cast as you can possibly get.

Here's a bunch of them.

I know that this isn't directly related to the discussion but I'd love to see the whole picture where Aadvark and Mush's avatars came from.

Majin yami Mar 6, 2006 01:07 PM

Maternity Leave was good. Not as good as the episode with evil Charlie and bad-ass Sawyer, but good nonetheless.

I poked it and it made a sad sound Mar 6, 2006 01:11 PM

Yea, I second the request for the images from Aardy and Mush's avatar. <3 I WANT HURLEY. GIVE HIM TO ME.

I have a theory about the turbine start up when the numbers dropped:
Spoiler:
I think its a self-destruction mechanism. Think about it. You're Dharma. You have an experiment going down. You have blast doors in your hatches. You obviously want a failsafe to protect your experiments and make sure no one gets their dirty little hands on it.

Only you would know about the button. Only you know the code. The people who invade your experiment housing would never guess unless they took the time to look around and putt he pieces together. And why would they do that. The time on the clock runs out every 108 minutes - chances are, they wouldn't have time to figure it out. The people on the island happen to know the code.

If you fail to push the button every 108 minutes, it indicates that something has happened to the person designated to push it - which will cause the hatch to blow up. (I personally think they're all inter-connected.)

It makes sense to me. =/

I am also CONVINCED that the Dharma folks are getting off the island somehow. Back and forth, back and forth. Which explains those new washer/drier units in the Swan.

Desmond, also, is one of them. "Saving the world." It seems to me they're doing some pretty important experiments. I think maybe something has happened to the world OUTSIDE of the island.

Btw,

Desmond has the most awesome accent I've ever heard

THANK YOU MUSHY. But can we get the WHOLE picture, please? I want to see what everyone else looks like!

Jack's head looks quite awesome, btw

Wow, thanks for the link. I'm lovin' the Boone and Zombie-Shannon.

It's shame they're missing Mr. Eko.

O man, I LOVE Sayid. And Shannon - that expression is PRICELESS. I love how they nailed Kate and Jack so hysterically. (I fucking HATE Jack.)

Awesome find, Mushpie. <3

Incidentally, I think the most recent episode really clears up a lot of shit for us. We know what that glass eye was for back in the Arrow. We know Mr. Friendly is clean-shaven, and we know they're performing some kinds of fucked -up experiments. We KNOW there really IS a virus, and I hear suspicions that
Spoiler:
Sun
is the person to come down with it first.

Its the two-month mark. They've GOT to start getting sick soon.
