It's a remake in the sort of vein of "the same but completely different". Not just small improvements like, say, Lunar, or laughable like the final fantasy "remakes"-- but basically a different game with the same storyline.
And it is a shame that it got ignored but I'm not sure that was only because of Unlimited Saga. Douche sites like gamespot ragged on the game fiercely too (6.4 rating I think?) so that probably didn't help. :( |
He might mean SaGa Frontier, which was the first game to be released in the US under the SaGa title. But then again, SaGa Frontier is sci-fi, which Romancing SaGa is not.
There have been a ton of games that have disappointed me, but not so many hyped games (mostly because my tastes don't usually go along with the mainstream). I guess I'll be boring and say X-2. I heard about a return of the job system, which is one of only two things that I absolutely love about the Final Fantasy series (the other is the history of Vana'diel). I also like female leads when they come along, but I had no idea how strong of a "girl power" vibe the game was going to be oozing. It also ruined what I thought was a somewhat touching ending for the original with the tack-on they used in the sequel. Bleh. |
