Just got my Wii, and got it all hooked up, so definitely wanna sign up for both. Like Slicky, I'm a bit of a lurker so please don't mind my post count... I most certainly won't miss out, I check these forums pretty much daily.

The Plane Is A Tiger Mar 24, 2008 11:29 PM

I was really liking the clan idea, but oh well. Sign me up for both.

Chaotic Mar 24, 2008 11:57 PM

We'll get back to it eventually, Tritoch. I wanna go back to it also, but first, just a normal tournament for everyone.

Then we can complicate shit again. o_o

nazpyro Mar 25, 2008 09:21 PM

I'm back for some brawlin'. MARCH SMASHNESS before complex-SMASH-NESS is fine with me. Team Shoemart!

nazpyro: 2578-2821-7619 (naz)

I guess I'll enter both tourneys. How are we selecting our partners?

Also, for the double-elimination thing... Will the undefeated team/player in the championship match have to be defeated twice? Not saying I'll get there, but just wondering.

Chaotic Mar 25, 2008 09:38 PM

I'm still thinking about that. o_o

I actually started thinking about how people would choose their teammates once the 2v2 tournament rolls around. I'm sure that people can mingle with themselves to choose a teammate and then send me in the team with a designated team name.

Although it seems a little unfair to the two lurkers we have in the tournament... To some extent anyway. Perhaps they could form Team LURK MOAR!

But we'll think about it when the time comes.

As for the double elimination. The championship match consists of the winner of the Winner's Bracket and the winner of the loser's bracket. Winner takes all after that match.

lol I don't mind that team up then if the other person is ok with it. I was wondering, how the scheduling would be handled?

Krelian Mar 27, 2008 11:04 AM

Friend code's in the other thread and on the Wiki. Sign me up for the 1v1, actually.

Chaotic Mar 27, 2008 11:11 AM

Gotcha. Hopefully this will somehow work out. There's an odd amount of people in the 2v2, so maybe that cut-off date will be just for the 1v1, if anyone still wants to do the 2v2 when the 1v1 starts, feel free to sign-up.

URGENT QUESTION: To anyone participating, just so this tournament isn't insanely short, is everyone alright with making it a first to three wins match-up? The finals would switch up to first to five wins. Just thinking about it so the level of competition stays high.

Confirmed.

Kairyu Mar 27, 2008 04:38 PM

I'm fine with the first to three wins and first to five landmasterswins format. The absolute worst thing it could do is drag on a losing match. But I don't think that will be an issue since we're allowed to switch characters.

Chaotic Mar 27, 2008 05:12 PM

Mmhmm, just wanna make this as competitive as possible. Even if you're the only one who's actually said anything about it, I'm gonna finalize it anyway. I'm sure people want to show as much skill as possible in this tournament.

Miles Mar 28, 2008 01:28 AM

I had an idea earlier. Whoever wins the 1vs1 tournament gets rewarded 2000 wii points to spend on the virtual console. Whatever team wins the 2 vs 2 tournament each get 1000 wii points. Not a bad award I'd say! By the way, I will fund these awards.

*watches BigCN's brother join the tournament*

Any objections to this?

Chaotic Mar 28, 2008 01:46 AM

I was just about to object and then I read:

"I will fund these awards."

I thought I would have to pay for it, but since you're offering it, it's something I can't refuse. I could use a couple of game downloads on the VC. :3

Chaotic lacks a job and is cheap as hell. :tpg:

Kairyu Mar 28, 2008 01:50 AM

If that isn't enough incentive to join in on some competitive online matches then I don't know what is.
I'm down with your idea =).

Freelance Mar 28, 2008 06:09 AM

I object! If both BigCN's brother and Icy joins, there's no way the rest of us is going to win XD

Ah well, I'll be getting Sin and Punishment in the unlikely chance I win XD

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Mar 28, 2008 05:31 PM

As opportunistic as it sounds for me to join in after Miles has offered to send up prizes, I'd like to participate (in both). I've been interested in doing so for any tournament GFF has, and I'd be doing this even without the gifts!

Buizel Mar 28, 2008 11:32 PM

I already said that my brother doesn't want to...

*Ihopz sees Miles post*

Code: 3909-6780-6875
Profile Name: BigCN
In-game Names: 0.0 (Me) and Ihopz (brother)
Tournament: Both :tpg:

Chaotic Mar 28, 2008 11:33 PM

Well there goes the neighborhood. :tpg:

Additional Spam:
And sign-ups for the 1v1 tournament are closed! 2v2 sign-ups are still open.

I should have the brackets up in a minute.

nazpyro Apr 3, 2008 12:04 PM

*bump*

2v2? We need one more to even it out for the 2v2! ;_;

Chaotic Apr 3, 2008 12:07 PM

Yes, we do. ;_;

Hopefully someone will jump in.

Slash Apr 3, 2008 12:09 PM

Chaotic...you might want to mention it again in the smash bros brawl thread since more people have probably gotten brawl since the first post.

Summonmaster Apr 3, 2008 01:22 PM

Oh there's a 2v2 tournament too?
I would like to sign up. My partner will have to get used to my strange character choices :p

Chaotic Apr 3, 2008 01:29 PM

Start considering who you want to team up with now. Next week, I'll start allowing people to send in their teammates and their team names.

I'll add them all into the tio tournament organizer and again, slap everything in randomness... No matter how many byes there are this time.

If nobody have any objection, I guess it only make sense if my brother and I team up.

Doesn't that mean we would get another 2000 Wii Points if we win? :tpg:

Chaotic Apr 3, 2008 01:38 PM

:tpg:

I was figuring that would happen anyway. Just come up with a team name and PM it to me.

Chaotic is speaking in the third-person again. Chaotic is reminding himself this is all just for fun. It's all just for fun, Chaotic. :tpg:

Chaotic Apr 7, 2008 10:17 AM

Hay, it's been long enough.

You could start choosing your teammate for the 2v2 Tournament. PM me the team name and the name of the teammate so I could mark down everyone so we could get this started right after the 1v1 tournament finishes up.
