Might need a little extra time after 12AM EST. I'm narrowing the choices down. Will edit in soon.

EDIT: Not too tough.

3 points: The Golden Compass (Game Rip) - Jordan College
2 points: Quilt Original Soundtrack - Into the Yonder Blue Sky -from Greensleeves- (karaoke ver.)
1 point: Super Monkey Ball 2 (Game Rip) - Billiards 2 BGM
Close: Mega Man Network Transmission (Game Rip) - GravityMan's Stage (Abnormal Gravity Area)

!!!INCOMING NOMINATION!!!

Artist(s): Hitoshi Sakimoto
Album/Game Title: Vagrant Story Original Soundtrack
Track Title: Town Center of Lea Monde
Disc Number: 1 (of 2)
Track Number: 17
Catalog Number: SSCX-10042
Year: 2000
Source(s): SSCX-10042: Vagrant Story Original Soundtrack - VGMdb beta

I'm not actually sure if this is eligible, but I figured I'd give it a shot since the only track anybody even knows from this game is freakin' Graylands Incident. :P

If my nom gets the axe, put me up for Loli Fishing.

Edit: Speaking of eligibility, what was the ruling on new games/soundtracks? NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams seems a bit iffy to me in that regard.

Vagrant Story is one of Sakimoto's best. It's too popular for this contest. Got dozens of nominations in the BSC. Stuff Roll, Limestone Quarry and Ifrit to name a few.

"Dozens of nominations" is an overstatement, but it's had at least five total in the BSC (Truth and CotGI also). I don't recall your specific nom ever showing up, though. I was under the impression VS was one of Sakimoto's more high profile soundtracks, at least around these parts. I'd also go with no.

Journey of Dreams has been out for two months (soundtrack for one). I'm pretty iffy on Opoona too, seeing as that's only been out for three months and hasn't even come out in the U.S. yet. I'm thinking no on Opoona until "some time" after it crosses the Pacific and giving Journey of Dreams at least another month or two.

Now that I think about it, I haven't really heard all that much discussion anywhere about Journey of Dreams's music.

Wow, glad I had time to vote...It was tight. Out of the three boss themes from KOF 97, Rhythmic was definitely the weakest, but it deserved to place here no doubt. Didn't really feel the 1986in' of the winner...Hoping for something more in the Reign in Blood/Master of Puppets/Poison 1986in'.

Huzzah!! My first gold. :3

Manny Biggz Feb 25, 2008 09:41 AM

Man, KOF Arranged tracks are forever cursed for second place! Hope mine gets me that damn gold that's been dodging me!

I wasn't aware there's a rule regarding the age of a game. I have plenty of other nominations that I want to put up, but I don't really want my one nomination to be stuck in the queue because of that rule. So either disqualify it so I can nominate it later, or let it go on, I guess.

orion_mk3 Feb 25, 2008 11:59 AM

Sakimoto + Square = ineligible. That's just how the math works out, I'm afraid.

Looks like two yeas and one nay on Opoona. By the time it's my turn to nominate again, the game will probably have come out in the US and vanished without a trace, so I think I'll put a track up after the current one gets sixth place. That'll also give me time to decide on one, as the rip is chock-full of terrific stuff.
