DNF will probably allow you to have a hooker attached to your cock permanently throughout the game, plant your Dr. Martens in Master chiefs face, crush shrinked down LAPD pig cops between your palms, and take a shit in the dead body of an alien mother queen.

All at the same time.

And maybe the collectible letters will come back.

Frankly, I'm just excited for another Dopefish cameo.

Infernal Monkey Dec 19, 2007 02:07 AM

You watch, Dopefish will be a hooker in this game. In a secret room. In a fish tank. In a library. Underground. On the moon. You watch! With your eyes! Mash the space bar and Duke will empty his wallet for the delights of Dopefish.

That's the angle they need to run with. the game better send up and parody every major action, sci fi game and film that has been released since 97.

Seriously though... haha what am I saying, this is the biggest joke in gaming history :tpg:

I'm looking forward to seeing this trailer tomorrow in a few years, but I hardly think it'll earn its place beside my Atomic Edition.

RYU Dec 19, 2007 03:22 AM

first time i know this game since 1998,I hope will release it before 2010.I hope so.

Kilroy Dec 19, 2007 04:30 AM

I dunno. Should I be excited? I remember playing the first one, and I tell you, those strippers sure made my wee feel strange, because I was a kid when I played it. Now? Meh.. I think I wait to pass judgement until I've seen the teaser.

A question though: How can such a thing come as a surprise to the dudes? They make the fucking game. Unless they're like: "What? A trailer, but we haven't even made the 'fling turds at small animals'-mechanic yet!"

Thank you for being fans of the game and for your continued patience.
Thanks for waiting 9+ years?

They need to make this game witty, funny and humorous to play. Otherwise it's just going to be released as a joke and thus blend in with the rest of the FPS out there. 3D Realms have been playing Hype Tycoon for years. Why do they keep changing engines?

ApOkwARG Dec 19, 2007 08:04 AM

I'm quite excited to finally hear something about The Duke again. I agree the screenshot looks unpolished but I think they wanted to make it look authentic in order to support his comeback even more. Here's hoping they put all those years into awesome gameplay, replayability and physics; to be honest, i'm getting sick of all these one-shot Hollywood movie like games and over-the-top graphics being the only priority for a "good" game. I would be quite disappointed to find out those years meant nothing when the game comes out though, let's hope that won't happen...
If you can blow everything to smithereens a la nex-gen Red Faction, i'm in. Think about the possibilities in multi-player.

Oh, and please, PLEASE add OpenGL support. Microsoft forcing the hell out of everyone to completely forget about OpenGL and presenting Direct3D/DirectX10 as the only option disgusts me.

Kilroy Dec 19, 2007 12:44 PM

So, have anyone seen it yet. Apart from the obvious meme creating ending, it was a bit tame, wouldn't you say?
It does look better in motion, but I didn't see anything which looks better than what FPS has managed.
I'll remain rather critical, because that way I won't get disappointed, only surprised...

Dark Nation Dec 19, 2007 01:03 PM

That trailer was completely lame. ... and What an awful voice actor.

Django! Dec 19, 2007 01:36 PM

If FileShack wasn't such a piece of shit website, I could have already downloaded the video and bitched about it.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Dec 19, 2007 01:43 PM

What the fuck is Dark Nation talking about. Like Duke Nukem was known for its excellence in writing and voice acting.

Sounds like the same guy only with better-quality soundbytes, and it's the same dumb humor that made Duke Nukem 3D so awesome even when it was just a Doom clone, graphically. My faith is restored for the time being.

I'm talking about how this Trailer was generic. Nothing much stood out.
LAME.

You're right, Duke Nukem never was known for writing or voice acting, but at least the voice actor in previous games didn't sound like he just got a vasectomy. Only good thing about the trailer was that they brought back the Pig-Cops.

Once more is revealed I might change my opinon, but right now I am not excited at all about playing this. If it ever even comes out.

Lacerta Dec 19, 2007 02:08 PM

It's not like Jon has been practicing his return for all the years he hasn't been voicing the Duke.

Django! Dec 19, 2007 02:14 PM

Personally, I thought Duke 3D was better than Doom. But that's just me.

Anyway. I found the video else where. Sucks, doesn't show anything, and it's no better than the crap pictures they released a year ago to assure us that the game, regardless of the fact that it doesn't exist, is still in the works.

Stay Tuned! We'll have more teasers and pics in 2011!

Elixir Dec 19, 2007 02:20 PM

You call that a trailer? Trailers usually show game content, you know. Not a bunch of.. animation and talking. If I actually anticipated this game I'd be pretty annoyed with that.

STAY TUNED... FOR A FEW MORE YEARS. I can't wait until they get their asses into gear and manage to release a gameplay trailer of this, in 2011.

Contracts Dec 19, 2007 03:03 PM

So, I watched the trailer, and I'm going to say it looked more pleasing visually then I would have expected. Regardless, no salvageable gameplay footage was kinda bleh, but it's a teaser so I can't really complain. Either way I hope they finally get this to near release by the end of this generation of gaming...

Adol Dec 19, 2007 05:06 PM

I have to say that I find it amusing that they combined crappy low-res blood decals with super high-res blood in that clip with the pig-cops. Spit and polish, kids.

No matter. ALWAYS BET ON DUKE.

Single Elbow Dec 19, 2007 05:48 PM

Duke Vaporware Forever, coming 2020 or so. The teaser looks promising. Hoping that the gameplay will still be oldschool and stuff.

kuttlas Dec 19, 2007 06:35 PM

Weightlifting, heavy metal arrangement of Duke's theme, Duke says something badass. Exactly what I expected. I would have liked to see some gameplay but they probably haven't gotten around to designing it yet.

Graphically, it looks alright for a beta, but the aliens look too much like generic Gears/Resistance aliens. And why is Duke's nose so damn big? His hairline looks like its part of the same polygon as his forehead, too. Those things aside, shit will be epic.

ApOkwARG Dec 19, 2007 07:07 PM

This trailer has awoken my inner Duke fanboy again, it looks awesome! Hopefully this is developed with the PC in mind, I'm definitely not waiting for a shitty console port.

Kimchi Dec 19, 2007 07:21 PM

Bad ass trailer. That's exactly what I was expecting from 3d.

RABicle Dec 19, 2007 08:53 PM

This is going to be so massive. I'll say it again; GOTY 08

Justin Dec 19, 2007 09:22 PM

I hope it turns out to be awesome, and not some generic piece of work.

Dopefish Dec 19, 2007 10:38 PM

LOL stay tuned. I swear they're just trying to contend for more first place finishes in vaporware contests.
