Hm, my previous job people could get a bit nasty. We'd have to call people to do surveys, and some of them ripped us apart. Most thought that since they were on the 'Do-Not-Call' list, they would immediately receive no calls despite it saying in black and white that surveys were allowed.
We couldn't talk back to them, but if it got to be too much, we were allowed to hang up on them. We would just say, "Thank you for your time. Good-bye." and then click-up on them. |
I only ever really worked with people on a service basis (cashier at McDonalds and Target, later cart attendant, now I work at my school as a lab administrator). I don't really have any horror stories of people dealing with me per se. I'm usually somewhat dull and sometimes caustic in these situations anyway. I generally respond to the customer's attitude and mirror it (unless, you know, shitty day).
Anyone REALLY unmanageable usually just asks for a manager, so that's what I'd do. |
