I know it's a grossly oversized bump but has anyone dug up any news on this at all? I only ask because I'm still wondering if they're going to release it stateside after all and I NEED a new PS2 but if this gets a release here I can hold out.

I saw advertisements for PS2s last night, $150 NZD ($115 US). I probably should buy one in case mine dies, or something. I gather something has happened for them to drop the price so low. I remember paying $500 for mine back in 2002.

Maybe they're going to secretly release the newer model.

They made another version of PS2?! I like the white one. But my fat PS2 is still going strong it's the model right before they started making the first slims. I was upset at the time because I'd rather have a top loading slim than the old style. But as long as mine works I'm not going to replace it.
