For those with a WiiKey modchip, there is a hotfix ~ http://download.wiikey.cn/dl/1.9g-beta.rar

I've got my first four stars now, and I must admit I'm officially in love with this game.

Elixir Nov 2, 2007 11:23 AM

Great game. I played it for about half an hour. It's really colourful. Dynamic is a must for the occasion.

Shitty camera angle but that's to be expected. I ended up dropping into a black hole due to it. But oh well, it's still fun.

Stop Sign Nov 3, 2007 11:43 AM

Heads up, guys:

Buy Super Mario Galaxy at Toys R Us, get a $25 gift card.

Sweet. I was going to pick the game up at a Gamestop, but this totally changes the equation.

Philia Nov 4, 2007 11:02 PM

I thought about it a bit more Sign and realized... NO way in hell I'm going into that store with mom/pop/brats GUNNING for these games on a Tuesday morning just for a 25 dollar freebie. Hell no. o.o'

Diversion Nov 4, 2007 11:56 PM

UR MR GAY

I look forward to this =)

Denys Nov 5, 2007 10:31 AM

Hey guys, look at the 3 movies I put on my blog. The musics of the game are often interactive and depend on the player's actions.

Please disregard the bad image quality. On the other hand, the sound is good.

I also ripped one boss track which sounds really good with its choir. Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

Whoa. I buy toys. That's a heck of a promotion. I could run by there after work and see if they've got anything left. Good catch!

Kilroy Nov 7, 2007 04:55 AM

I'm very happy that it has recieved some good reviews. Had it not, I would have sold my Wii on the spot. What else should I look forward to, if not Mario? (Oh yea, Mario and the Olympics...)

Elixir Nov 7, 2007 06:18 AM

I'm on like my 24th star, just messing through it.

I found L-block.

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ene/lblock.png

Nothing else to report.

FatsDomino Nov 7, 2007 11:06 AM

The L-Block has defeated Kirby and Kratos and now stands to defeat Snake, Link, and Cloud in one swoop. L-Block is unstoppable. I fear for Mario's Galaxy.

nanaman Nov 7, 2007 11:13 AM

Man, I can't wait to play this game. This is one of the reasons I'm probably buying myself a Wii in the future. It's gotten great scores in reviews so I'm betting it will live up to my expectations. So far it's got a whopping 97% on gamerankings.com so that must certainly mean it's a great game :D

Megalith Nov 7, 2007 09:27 PM

Wait, all the levels consist of Mario running on giant balls.

That's it, I'm selling my Wii.

Cheezeman3000 Nov 7, 2007 09:35 PM

Thanks, Megalith. Lol.
The big reviews are up (IGN, Gamespot, 1UP), and all of them are 95% or over. Creaming my pants over here. Need this game now. AGH.

RABicle Nov 7, 2007 09:40 PM

Some magazine in italy gave the game eleven out of ten
I hope this is taken into the Gamerankings calculations.
Lolling at games™ that mag is a joke, their whole scale is 7-9.

Diversion Nov 7, 2007 10:17 PM

Every review has talked up the soundtrack: that geeks me the fuck out.

Cheezeman3000 Nov 7, 2007 10:50 PM

I was surprised Gamespot gave it what it did, in light of Zelda getting an 8.9 and Metroid getting an 8.5. If GAMESPOT likes it, EVERYONE must like it.
Oh, and I am so excited for the soundtrack you can't believe it. They better damn well release it for once, because I will buy that shit right away.

I'd say I'm about half way through the game, and yes, the soundtrack is really fucking good.

It's like they managed to get Eminence to orchestrate the entire soundtrack without letting them eat or sleep.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Nov 8, 2007 02:20 AM

For those curious, this dude has been putting up a ton of videos of the game being
Spoiler:
played as Luigi. He does look a bit hard to control.

Infernal sez: no Birdo, no buy.

Para Nov 8, 2007 07:10 PM

So according to gamerankings so far...
Slowly SMG is becoming an instant hit and a game that almost has no match in its generation.

Out there, Mario is god :tpg:

Slayer X Nov 8, 2007 07:36 PM

While this game is a must buy for anyone who has a Wii, even if there were other choices. I still find it funny how the Japanese complain about American action games not having a point, when they eat up things like Mario which has just as little or less story then most action games.

I know that Nintendo does a lot of things that no other company would be able to get away with, but it's still puzzling when you look at it.

Yeah, it's receiving raving reviews. I suspect, though, that there will be a few unknown or no-name sites that underrate it for hits. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened to a high-profile game this gen.

Chaotic Nov 8, 2007 08:10 PM

This game looks too good now. I have to reserve it...

But I'll probably do it at Toys R Us to get that $25 gift card. :3:

No, they complain about needless killing and gore not having a point.

Cheezeman3000 Nov 9, 2007 03:56 AM

It's entertaining watching that percentage on gamerankings go up on a daily basis. It's at 97.1% now and steadily climbing... :)
In a few days it'll surpass Ocarina of Time... I actually don't know if I'd agree with that outcome... but at LEAST it's beating Orange Box. Of course, Orange Box getting good reviews was a given, seeing the sheer value it brings to the table.

Para Nov 9, 2007 08:12 PM

It's 97.3% now :D
