What I mean is this.

Just imagine if she said it seriously. The words she's saying would just hit herself when the whole bunch of fans started to get annoyed because of Dumbledore's hidden facts, which is indeed disturbing. By turning it into a joke, less people will consider it seriously, and so, the chance for Rowling to have her fans feel ruined is less than 1.

We judge a book (well, at least me and my pals) by what it is, by what it tells, and by the fact about the story written, not by additions made after the whole story finished. The truth is that Harry Potter's story will just go on, disposing Dumbledore's sexual references.

If in those seven books, a quote about Dumbledore's being a gay is mentioned, so it does. But unfortunately, the news about it is not mentioned even once in the thick books with more than one million words.

So does it make any differences in the story? No. The only things created by the news Rowling announced are only more hatred from the Christian fanatics and questions whether Dumbledore did something Harry and other male characters or not.

And that's a complete disturbance.

You're right that this is an ongoing thing, since early this year. I've asked a number of times for some constructive criticism and as far as I can recall, all I got was "don't be a turd" and "post bettar". I think my posts are just fine, personally, and compared to the average general discussion & TQP or Animespot inhabitant are quite good. Even at my worst, there are still a number of people doing the exact same thing, moderators included.

I personally don't see why everyone is making such a big deal about this. Someone asked her about Dumbledore's past loves and she responded. She may well have kept it secret had she not received that question. I may not be aware of the whole situation, but that's the way I understand it, anyhow.

The problem is that now people are going to make a big deal about it and try and claim that it's a great thing for gays. The only thing is, now they're all going to go re-read the book looking for the subtext, and spot all the "flamboyant dress" and weird pets and go "Well of course he was gay."

It's like the modern Liberace only it's a fictional character in children's literature.
