Ya Paco, I think I had a similar experience to Bill Maher when I was a boy. I thought it was odd that scientists were able to construct an entire transitional fossil from a single fossilized tooth they found at an excavation site.

I was considering my massive post and I feel the need to qualify it. I think such notions as the one guyinrubbersuit posted are ridiculous. People who come to such conclusions are obviously not learned and their opinion should not represent the viewpoint of all theists.

The explanation that says God put those bones in the earth just "for the lulz" isn't half bad. Who says God doesn't have a sense of humor. Certainly beats out The Flintstones in my book.

So that means Dino Riders was more than a cartoon?

Sakabadger Oct 9, 2007 06:30 AM

Forget The Flintstones. Dinotopia is clearly the model we should be following.

This is really bad, but I'll share it so everyone gets a good chuckle at it. Until I just read Sakabadger's post, I thought it was the Flinstones, with no T. Only now do I realize that the two words Flint and Stone together made the name for the cartoon of cave-people The Flintstones...

No...No....

I don't mean it's one God and not the Holy Trinity. I mean the way God would be addressed in different cultures.

Same God, Different Names.

This IS unitarian. You're confusing this with monotheism.

I'm confusing this? I never brought up the Unitarian argument. I never claimed to deny the Holy Trinity. Different aspects of the same person? Oh, yeah--I definitely believe that.

But, when you use the word God, you get into trouble. Just who am I referring to? The God that is the combination of these three, or am I referring to an aspect of the Supreme Being?

Now, those religions with different Gods and Goddesses that represent different things may have started with the same concept, but as time went on, they became separate beings. I don't know, contrary to popular belief at work, I am NOT old enough to have been around during these time frames.

But, that Supreme Being these aspects make up, can be referred to in other cultures by other names. Or, perhaps, different cultures have the same idea?

Does that work for you?
