If you had a nice, expensive John Deere, would that change your mind? I know it would with me.

I just mowed my lawn. With a John Deere. Hated it. I guess the John Deere love is a guy thing, because it didn't make me enjoy the job any more than I would have if I had used another brand of lawn mower.

I poked it and it made a sad sound Sep 9, 2007 06:44 PM

Yea, I hate that shit too. But it's worth the little kitty, so.

I fucking hate folding laundry. I like DOING laundry, I just hate FOLDING IT because it takes for fucking EVER.

I actually really enjoy washing dishes by hand. I don't like dishwashers much, as they don't get my shit clean enough for my liking. But I can always rely on myself for a nice, spotless dish.

Eh I hate things that involve cleaning and wiping stuff. I don't mind washing dishes because i like the feel of the warm water.

Shiranai Sep 10, 2007 12:01 AM

I can't stand doing the dishes and cleaning out the bottom of the sink when what is there is likely not from me (I live with roommates, and sometimes, they neglect to do things like that). Of course, I avoid it if possible, but at some point, it gets to be unbearable. Folding clothes also takes awfully long and seems to serve little purpose for me though I could probably become a bit more efficient at it.

God damn if that isn't the truth! I despise folding clothes... in fact, there is a basket full of clean but unfolded clothes sitting in my room right now. They may very well remain unfolded.

Mowing the lawn, doing the dishes, fixing the apartment. Eating.... going to work....fixing network issues.....

That was my strategy for most of college. Wash laundry, leave it in laundry basket and slowly pull what I need out over the course of the week. The flaw in that plan is that cats love to sleep in piles of clean clothing, so if I didn't put the baskets in my walk-in closet, I'd wind up with face full of cat hair after my shower. Now that my cat yells if I close the closet door (he likes to hang out in the dark corners), not folding the laundry is no longer an option.

I'm not gonna say I like doing chores, but if I find there's something that can be done, I'd usually jump on it right away. I don't mind washing dishes, but in college it was annoying because I was usually the only one who ended up washing the dishes. They were my plates and stuff, and I let my roommates borrow them, but only one of them ever cleaned up after himself. So I eventually shot the other two in the face.

Taking out the trash is easy: trash gets full, close bag, toss bag in outside garbage bin/dumpster. Just do it. Vacuuming and dusting I kinda like. Washing and vacuuming the car is usually fun, and I might even say I take pride in that. I do laundry often, but ironing and folding is a pain in the ass. The ironing is time-consuming, but at least I can watch something while doing it; and I'm a poor folder. I hang what I can.

The only chore I absolutely do not like doing is mowing the lawn. It just takes so long, and often the day is gone once you're done. =/

I don't dislike doing any chore, it's just gotta be done so I have no problem with it. Better having a home from which you can bring out the trash, instead of not having a home and having to live beside the trash.

The only thing which annoys me is my cat sleeping in my bed even though I tell him not to. I have to change the sheets constantly because he's just a big hair-dropping monster. He understands the word NO, but there are some things he just can't accept. Closing the door to my room doesnt help either because he can open door handles.

Washing the dishes, my apartment doesn't have a dishwasher and it drives me nuts. I also hate cleaning the bathroom since it's always the dirtiest room.

Anazai Sep 29, 2007 07:48 PM

I HATE picking up or cleaning up my dog's piss and poo in our home.I have three little chihuahua mixes and just about every night there's something waiting for me when I wake up. I just adopted this chihuahua from this animal hospital I was working at. He was abandoned by his owner, who supposedly got hired on at playboy, so I took him. He's the one doing it...I know it's him. I wish I could catch him in the act though. anyway that's what I hate the most.

I totally agree as well. Doing the laundry is the easy part. You would think that folding wouldn't take that long, especially if you do the laundry every week... But no! I still have 40 shirts to fold....

At least its not as often as having to do the dishes every couple days... Grr...

Elegy Oct 3, 2007 12:07 PM

I have to agree with cleaning the bathroom. The toilet in particular is around to get around in some places and it's just gross to me. The bathroom is also small, so it's a pain in the ass to clean. Other than that I guess it'd have to be ironing. I'm terrible at it. xP

gdragon Oct 5, 2007 07:10 AM

I hate sweeping. Absolutely loathe it. Or at least I used to before I got a swiffer vac, heck yeah. Seriously though it's the most monotonous chore I've ever had to deal with on a regular basis. Not to mention you pretty much have to mop right after or it still looks like total crap.

kinkymagic Oct 5, 2007 10:48 AM

Surly this thread is slightly redundant, as the word chore doesn't really have any pleasent connotations.

Anyway, the household chores I can't stand doing are washing dishes and taking out the rubbish, mainly because I can't stand my hands not being clean (although I'm not quite O.C.D yet) and so having to shove my hands into dirty water or having rubbish juices sluicing all over them sickens me.

Auditor Oct 5, 2007 07:58 PM

No chores. Parents clean up everything, and never forced me to do any chores when I was a kid. It kinda shows in my cubicle that I'm a lazy slob, since it's a damn mess. I think if they forced me to do chores, don't think I would be the lazy slob I am today..

Yggdrasil Oct 6, 2007 04:33 AM

Washing the dishes. The fact that its a chore that I don't do voluntarily aside I hate the nagging I get when I do wash them. My parents always like the use dish soap and soap all the dishes up first. Then when all the dishes have soap on them, rinse. Personally I like to soap'n scrub and rinse in one go. So everytime I wash I inevitably get into a small argument over which method to use.

wilflare Oct 6, 2007 10:44 PM

Another vote for washing of dishes. it's plain ><
though Utada Hikaru seems to make it seem so easy in Simple and Clean PV.

dislike getting rid of dust. those dustballs turn me into rudolph ><

Kitatsugu Oct 19, 2007 12:04 PM

The only chore I really have any issue with is doing the dishes. I don't mind cleaning the house in any other way, in fact I'm very much an organized person who likes making sure everything is clean but I just can't stand dishes for some reason.
