I've never knocked out of superstition, however.

I knock 3 times on doors. Normally I don't like doorbells because it's annoying when people ring mine (I don't say anything though). I only ring the door bell at my gf's house (It's a huge house and no one would hear me knocking).

on a door...i do that little melody (do do do dooo do...do do!) so um...*counts on fingers* seven times :) people usually know its me because of my knocking tune.

as for superisition...i don't believe in that crap.

I usually ring the doorbell first. If no one answers for several minutes, I try knocking, and it's usually three knocks.
