K, making a nomination. I'll see if I can upload it in the next couple days.

Additional comments: This OST had too much good stuff on it, there were several other songs I also wanted to nominate.

Onoz! I was going to nominate Reflection Into Eden but I couldn't find the mp3. That song will win its week ;)

You know, you can nominate songs that you don't have a copy of. Our crack research team will do their best to hunt one down!

3 points: Space Channel 5 Part 2 Uki Uki ~ Non Stop Megamix - This is My Happiness (Tom Jones A-Go Go Mix)
2 points: Kotoba no Puzzle Mojipittan Daijiten Original Soundtrack - Bedtime Puzzler
1 point: Snow in Saigon - Larmes de la lune
Almost: Phantasy Star Collection - Sound Collection II - LANDEEL

That Space Channel 5 track...just strangely excellent. The Tom Jones influence helped. With the sound quality was way better (not talking about the encoding).

In other news, your mom is a Bedtime Puzzler.

This week didn't appeal to me at all. Three vocals and two film music. Landeel is probably my favourite arrangement from the PSC albums and it was the clear winner. Nothing new worth keeping on my hard drive this week.

3 points - LANDEEL
2 points - Larmes de la lune
1 point - Battle of Lovers (SPC Rip) - Goal 2

Album: MIDI Power Pro 7 ~ Gradius
Artist: Konami Kukeiha Club
Track Title: Oceanus (3rd Stage)
Track number: 09
Disc number: 1/1
Catalog number: KMCA-5
Year: 1999
Source: http://www.gmronline.com/info.asp?CatNumber=KMCA-5

Will upload shortly.

I really liked Bedtime Puzzler, particularly the rhythmic singing in its hook and then at around 4:00. Larmes de la lune was a great piece; the music box and piano sections are my favorites. This is My Happiness is a very fun song, though I enjoyed it more for its musical style than the questionable singing. Actually, the more I listen to it, the more endearing the singing gets. :p

I wish I could award Larmes de la lune and This is My Happiness 1 1/2 points each. I like them about the same, but I don't want to drop both of them down to 1 point, because they're on another level than whatever other song I would make the last 1-pointer.

Landeel was solid, but bland, as orion said. Primordial Forest was actually pretty cool; I like the pizzicato strings. The percussion in the background was also a nice touch. Goal 2 was a nice little tune as well. All three songs got consideration for points.

Skilled Spear did nothing for me. Guruguru Tonight was OK but not good enough for point contention.

Bedtime Puzzler - 3
This is My Happiness - 2
Larmes de la lune - 1

2 Points - Bedtime Puzzler ° Some part in the middle was excellent
2 Points - Landeel ° Phantasy Star? This? 1993? I'm impressed.
1 Point - This is my Happiness ° haha, Tom Jones
1 Point - Skilled Spear ° "best out of the ordinary genre"

Hooray, my first gold! I also noticed Draconis (who started the same week as me) won his first gold with his most recent nomination, so a late congratulations to him too.

PS - sorry Darkcomet :(

Duck King Aug 13, 2007 12:17 AM

Congratulations to you as well, TheKnightOfNee. That was a really excellent nomination on your part, and one of the most enjoyable this week had to offer.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Aug 13, 2007 01:56 AM

Eh, I eked out a Bronze. Not bad for a silly vocal track, given the usual resistance to their ilk. Bronze is about where I was aiming when I nominated it, so MISSION COMPLETE.

Dhsu Aug 13, 2007 02:03 AM

Haha, I didn't realize voting was closed so I went ahead and picked out my songs. And what do you know, the top 3 turned out to be exactly what I picked, in exactly the same order.

I should get a prize or something.

Drakken Aug 13, 2007 10:00 AM

Wow, the three songs I voted for turned out to be the top 3 (though not in the same order). That's rare.

Congratulations on your first gold nomination, TheKnightOfNee. :)

Not for me. :-) Always good to get them right though.

In other news, your mom is a Landeel.
