I'd like to be a tenor instead of a damn bass. That's not a talent though...

I'd like to be talented at... Well that's hard because I'm pretty happy with how good I am at piano and composition. I guess it would be cool to be a talented fighter.

Dubble Jun 27, 2007 05:09 AM

I'll have to say better athletic ability. I'm not afraid to say that when it comes to most sports I am an absolute and total klutz which is sort of baffling. A lot of that probably came from not learning how to properly play anything as a kid I suppose. Only sport I really ever partook in to a decent extent was soccer but I stopped playing that when I moved from Florida at a young age. **shrugs**

Wall Feces Jun 27, 2007 06:48 AM

The two talents I've always clamored for are musical - I wish I could sing like Cam Pipes, and play guitar like John Frusciante.

Ahh but those are fevered dreams at this point...

Mucknuggle Jun 27, 2007 10:25 AM

It'd be pretty cool if I could develop a flexible, toned body and be great at contemporary and hip hop dance. Either that or have great MMA skills.

Aren't those kind of things that you get by hard work, not by being born with them?

Phoenix X Jun 27, 2007 11:18 AM

I wish I could spit mad, possibly phat rhymes at will. It's a bit of a pain when my friends start freestylin' and I can't hold a candle. Oh well, I guess somebody has to beatbox... I also wish I could draw and breakdance.

Y'know what? I just wish I was the Mahdi. Yeah, causing world peace would be an awesome skill to have. :P

Fiddlegoof Jun 27, 2007 12:13 PM

I always wanted to be an intense break-dancer, with all the moves. I can't find any classes that offer it in my town though, so I guess I have to keep on dreaming.

Matt Jun 27, 2007 12:31 PM

I always wanted to be really inventive and be able to create new things with ease.
It's not that I have a bad imagination, but I can't really figure out what needs to be invented in the first place.

Celes Chere Jun 27, 2007 03:25 PM

I wish I could whistle. It sounds lame, but I really can't do it. :( I've tried and tried! I do what others tell me and fail miserably every time.

Meth Jun 27, 2007 03:48 PM

I wish I was as good an actor as Marlon Brando. I also wouldn't mind having one of those smiles that you can melt the ladies with.

That's certainly a part of it, but some people are naturally gifted and will be able to do some things better than others, no matter how hard they work.

xLilJazzy Jun 27, 2007 10:10 PM

Hmm, well singing, and just instruments like the violin and drums.
I wish I could compose music too.
Oh oh, I wish I had photographic memory.

Temari Jun 28, 2007 12:31 AM

I wish I could dance and draw well, though I suppose stuff like that can happen with tons of practice.

But what I'd really, really want is a way with witty words (yay, alliteration!). I'm not talking just a way with words, I need the witty, stinging stuff. I can't insult a person (or shut them up) for my life. I just wish I had the ability to come up with that 'come back' when I need it, not an hour later when the confrontation is over.

Roan Jun 29, 2007 02:17 PM

I'd like to be able to paint like the old masters. And sell my painting in the millions even while Im still alive.
Oh and I think Pablo Picasso's cubism is the greatest peice of shit in the artworld. I hate abstract art. Piet Mondrian's so called "paintings" make me puke. A 2 year old can paint better :P Im ranting.

Chaotic Jul 5, 2007 01:09 AM

Anyway, drawing is a big thing for me. I have a billion ideas and characters I've always wanted to put on to paper and express, but I lack any sort of art skill to do that. Along with drawing, the ability to play Piano (even though I already know how to play... I mean well by most standards) and Guitar. Also, to have better dancing skills. T_T

I'm not bad at dancing, I just want to have better dance skills. Mostly in ballroom and modern type dances (jazz, hip-hop... all that stuff.)

Sepharite Jul 5, 2007 01:41 AM

Singing would go great with my playing and improvising. I mean, most girls go crazy over musical guys, especially the singers. I even get girls just by playing the piano, it's ridiculous... but I want to hone that further and possibly pick up non-nerdy girls =D

agreatguy6 Jul 5, 2007 05:14 PM

DEVELOP PHOTOGRAPHIC EFFIN MEMORY! Jesus, I swear! I mean, I'm so jealous of those people, they don't even understand. Oh, the things you could do with something like that!

Same here! I so wish I could too. My dad and sis can, and despite following what they tell me to do, it hasn't worked :><:

GhaleonQ Jul 7, 2007 11:42 PM

Wow. I realize the purpose of this forum, but I'm shocked at how many music-related wishes were posted.

Me? If we're talking straight talent, I'd love to be able to communicate brilliantly about religion at a moment's notice. If the question is "ability," I'd like to be as compelling in the long term as I am when being brief. I'm great at parties (problem: I hate schmoozing) and can compose reasonably compelling sketches, tunes, short stories, and short subject films. I'm a great editor for others, too, in most capacities. Whenever I try to create something of my own that's full-length, however, it turns out to be mediocre. *sighs*

Seconded. I also wish I could do standing backflips and the like. I'm in awe of some of the free-runners...

And randomly, I'd like to be able to balance and spin objects on my finger better. I try and practice it every so often and usually end up looking like a numpty :(

For odd reasons, I could do that with almost any square pillow with my right hand going clockwise. I've managed to keep one up for a good two minutes or so out of boredom.

Jamma Jul 8, 2007 03:56 PM

Haha, pillows? Awesome.

I've been able to balance boxes about 3'3'4' for a couple of minutes at work, but they were empty and therefore quite easy to keep up. I'd love to be able to balance a ladder or something on my fingers or chin :p

Alice Jul 8, 2007 04:04 PM

I really, really wish I could play the violin. It has always been my favorite instrument, but it looks like it would be extremely difficult to learn.

Oh, and I would love to have a good singing voice. I'm not tone deaf but my singing is nothing anyone would ever want to hear. I wouldn't want it to sound trained with a lot of vibrato, just...pleasant.

SilverHawk Jul 8, 2007 08:57 PM

Oh, it's a long list for me...

Master every instrument (including voice), be a better composer, draw, be a superhuman fighter, photographic memory, be a complete genius...it goes on.

On a final note, perhaps I should add "be less greedy" to the above list. :p
