Hidden away somewhere in their wiki is a page about this. It seems they definitley don't want you to run a tracker (due to the CPU usage), but I've seen reports of customers who have been allowed to after asking dreamhost directly for permission. I guess you'd just have to put forward your plan and estimated load and then hope for the best.

Can anyone describe the interface? Is it all user friendly? I'd like to create html pages then upload them like on Windows Server's IIS.

I can't speak of godaddy from experience, but I came across similar opinions about godaddy as the ones about dreamhost in the webhosting forums I bothered to check out.

DH don't put ads anywhere on your site (who'd pay for hosting that still has ads ='D). The interface is pretty simple. I'd prefer a cPanel simply because that's what I was used to, but now I know my way around the Dreamhost panel it's basically just as easy (arguably easier) to do things.

Ok, I've decided to register with godaddy. I just subscribed for a simple 1 year contract on a domain name. So if I want to host it on my own server, what do I do? ( Do I have to change something with the name servers?)
