Google for me as well. I mean all I do is type what I'm looking for in the top right hand corner of my firefox broswer and off I go.
Google, of course. Even people that are completely inept with computers tend to use Google. The built in tab in firefox is also nice.
Google is the only search engine that I use. I always set any built-in taskbar search tool to use Google. I even gave Google Desktop a try for a while, but it didn't live up to my expectations.
I'm a Google man myself. Simple, fast and reliable. Very quick to type into the address bar too.
Google 'cause it has tons of functions and such.
I thought people use Google precisely because it is bare bone and functional by any accounts. Google all the way.
I actually used to use Altavista all the time, but then something switched and I became a Googler. It might have something to do with Firefox and the default engine, but the switch coincided more with me changing to my laptop from my grandma's old home computer. Go figure.
I stopped using Altavista years ago when they suddenly replaced their simple Google-esque start page with a total mess. Even now that they've gone back to basics, I'm stuck on Google out of habit.
To be truthful, it all depends on the browser I'm using.
If I'm running Internet Explorer, I typically use Yahoo since I also have a Yahoo email account in there. If I'm running Firefox, I use Google since my homepage is iGoogle and I check my RSS feeds through Google Reader anyway. |
Im a google person sporting the google toolbar.
Google. They own my search engine time and they own my e-mail.
I use both Yahoo and Google, but Google mostly.
In all actuality, I use LOTS of search engines, because some are usually on their period and not giving me what I want... lol. |
Definitely Google, it's the best and it's very fast. Since November last year I've been using Gmail as well, great e-mail client!
Kind of a pointless thread really since nearly everyone will say google however for alternatives
Altavista for when I want to be as specific as hell on their advanced search Wikipedia need I say more? Ask.com going through a rehash lately, like you can preview pages before you open them now, but it's more a gimmick then useful feature imo. It's one of those search engines that tends to search based on popular searches rather then useful ones, but for serious features it's a quick easy way to do some tasks such as currency converting. |
Ahahaha, 87 votes for Google and the rest have a maximum of 5.
Dog Pile. What the hell is Dog Pile? |
Dogpile searches multiple search engines if I remember correctly. It's good for audio searches.
As for what I use, Google. It's in the top right of Safari and it almost always gives me what I want. |
Dogpile was how I found GFF, actually. Which is why I don't use it anymore.

Another googler, but:
Dogpile - Prior to google. I loved the idea of searching every single engine and the little outfits that the dog would wear depending on what holiday it was. Now it feels like information overload, unpopular, and disorganized. Lycos/Altavista - When I first discovered the internet. I didn't know any better ;_; Ask - What a joke. Even when I was young, I didn't think that butler could fetch me results. Phrasing in the form a question was neat, but I never fell for it since even that was a hassle. |
Ok, this thread is quite silly when you consider that "google" has become a verb in the English language dictionary.
Which is too bad, given the fact that Google in unethical and farms out information.
If I dont use google, that means I betray my googlism
Google for me, too. It just... works.
I also use IMDB and Wikipedia if I'm looking for something specific, but do those count as search engines? Someone else already mentioned that, I think~ |
Google, default search engine on firefox.
Google FTW.
It's just more friendly. |
From the list, google.
But nowadays, searchkindly.org "What is Search Kindly? Search Kindly lets you donate money for free just by using Google from this page instead of any other. All of the money that we make through advertising is donated to charities that you select." :) |
