IIRC, despite the music being from the game Culex wasn't actually in FFII(US)/IV(Jap)? Maybe if some element of SMRPG was in the av/sig too. I think Culex is more distinctive than the Samus or Link cameo though (since those two have their own franchises).

If it weren't for Bowser, I'd have taken Chain Chomps myself. They're my favourite minions in the Mario universe.

Culex was an original character made for SMRPG, which borrowed the music from a couple Final Fantasy games. Culex himself wasn't actually IN any other game.

If that's the case though, and we'd rather leave Culex out, I'll stick with Boshi.
