I'd like to know what kind of shapes he sees that lets him do those calculations. If they could be reproduced, it might allow other people to do it too.

Edit: Haha, I finally watched the whole thing, and the best part at the end. UP NEXT: HUEG TUMOR

I've got this synesthesia as well, but I can't use it to do advanced calculations. (I just do math in colors instead of numbers, and I can remember almost any number you give me).

That's certainly an interesting quirk. I wonder where he lacks (if at all) if they consider him a "savant." I thought that usually implied that a person is extremely adept to a certain thing, but other things he lacks.

'Savant' only means that you have one particular area in which you have exceptional skill. You're thinking of 'idiot savant', (I think the current PC term is 'autistic savant' but I've always heard it as 'idiot savant').

O, my bad. I thought the term meant the same, but yea - I'm a dolt.

Autistic savant, huh. Same as the old "idiot" savant? 'Cause lol

I imagine it's because autistic people aren't actually idiots (by the clinical meaning of the word, though I'm not sure if they even use the term anymore).
