YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Mar 15, 2006 03:00 AM

Fuck all of you. I get a lousy three days off.

Hachifusa Mar 15, 2006 03:18 AM

I was going to be heading to Japan, but couldn't secure the passport quick enough.

Oh, well. I'll probably just play a game or something.

nazpyro Mar 15, 2006 03:21 AM

I get a week off. I was originally going to go on a cruise to Jamaica with 3 friends. But then some interviews and shit came up, so I gave up my spot to someone else. So basically I'll just be video gaming forever.

Here in the southern region of the United States (Texas), it's already spring. Most colleges in our state have spring break in the middle of the spring semester. I'm sure France is still winter, just like the northern parts of the United States.
Interesting. I wasn't aware that Texas was nearly a week ahead of the rest of the country. That's one hell of a time-warp.

I'm in Georgia, and we've always had spring break in April, when the actual season of spring was already well underway. In March, it's only just starting to warm up, and the temperatures are still fluctuating. Why have time off then? Wait until it's consistently warm. (If you're into that sort of thing.)

Why only three days? I thought all schools had a week off?

PacificKid Mar 15, 2006 06:56 PM

My spring break was in February (?) - everything was cheaper, but not many other universities were out. At least since it was February, it's an awesome time to go snowboarding in the Rockies!

Lady Miyomi Mar 15, 2006 07:09 PM

How does that happen that your spring break is different from everybody else's?

MeTaL_oRgY Mar 15, 2006 07:31 PM

I'm going to Cancun for a whole week. =D

with my mother and sister. =(

As for my ideal spring break, it was last year. I finished... humm... high school (don't recall english name, for god's sake...) or something and I went with all my class to Cancun for one and a half week. Yeah, Cancun is paradise on earth, though I'm not quite sure what to expect with my family there.

I'm not sure actually, but I know that most of Canadian Universities have their breaks on or before the beginning of March.

jouhou Mar 15, 2006 07:46 PM

I got spring break next month. 1 and a half week off.
I won't be doing anything productive; just play some games, bother some people, maybe go to a theme park or something.

The universities of each state is different so the breaks are also different. Some colleges has 4 months of summer break. My school has 3 month of summer break and high schools usually have 2 months of summer break.

Don't feel down about not going to Japan, just download a bunch of anime and watch it all week.
Get yourself some rice balls and it'll be like you're sitting in a hotel room in Tokyo and not your own bedroom.

Wow, that's really early!

Hell yeah, I'm actually am doing stuff on my Spring Break, for once.

I went to Six Flags over Texas a few days ago... that was interesting. I went on my first 'real' roller coaster: Batman the ride. Yes, I've been told by enough people "That's not a big roller coaster!blahblahnotscaryblah..." but you know, I'm lucky to go on everything at Disneyland. Until a few years ago, I wouldn't. So this is a big step for me.

And now that I'm back in Austin, I'm hitting some of the band shows here for SXSW (south by southwest). Unfortunately, I'm not going to see any Norwegian acts :( (they were all 21+ or cancelled...). But I did see The Dresden Dolls tonight/last night, and that was awesome. They did a cover of Sabbath's War Pigs that was wonderful. I just wish I wouldn't have had to pay a $25 cover charge.

Tomorrow/today I'm hoping to catch DMBQ, The Duke Spirit and Man Man, along with a Metalhead documentary, some music vids (one from Kaada!), and another documentary about Beethoven (they're from the SXSW film festival).

It's my first year doing the SXSW thing, so it was a pretty big shock.

That's rough. I get a week and a half off. Of course spring break always sucks because it's Passover, but I pretty much break the rules everytime I leave the house.

kobunicus Mar 17, 2006 06:35 PM

BBQs and LANs! This spring break is gonna be awesome. :)

Trigunnerz Mar 17, 2006 06:52 PM

My spring break was pretty uneventful, but I'm really glad for the time off. Weekends were the time where I met up with some old high school friends. The weekdays were, well, sleep late and wake up late afternoons. Practice my music for an hour, then off the wonderful world of video games!

Rydia Mar 17, 2006 06:55 PM

With class coming up again on Monday, my break was also very uneventful. I managed to get a lot of unfinished work done though, so it was still somewhat productive. Friends from other universities didn't have spring break when my school did.
