I must say, the most useless kitchen gadget I own is this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...emon/cuber.jpg An egg cuber. I have no idea why you would need to cube an egg, but I sure can. I bought it for it's complete ridiculousness. |

That is awesome! No kidding, I want one :eagletear: Also, thanks for making me hungry (<3 avocado) >=U |

You can breathe this! |
How the hell does an egg cuber even work? You can't alter the shell's form, nor can you really alter the shape of a hardboiled egg without destroying it. Neither can you do much to the liquid insides, as liquids are amorphous.
The picture on the box shows that it can hold one normal egg, which means that it's too large to contain the liquid in a cubic shape for boiling, or at least it appears that way. So what do you do to make cubic eggs? |
Apparently, it works as a screw press.
You take the hard boiled egg, shell it, place it in the cuber and then twist the top so that it descends and squeezes the egg to "form" it into a cube. |

A yogurt maker? Isn't yogurt like half rotten milk or something? You can do that without a gadget :tpg:
btw, where are your loquats? Those tits on trees cracked me up everytime I saw one of your posts :( |

AeroGarden! I saw this on TV the other day and I thought it was basically the coolest thing ever, because I love fresh baby greens in salads... and supposedly you can grow lettuce and keep it growing for up to 6 months, never having to buy bagged lettuce at the grocery store. I know I've had to throw away a lot of greens because they go rancid so fast, even if you don't open the package. http://www.dcservice.co.jp/all%20of%...co_linea-1.jpg La Marzocco machine!!! The best espresso machine ever. I know it's kind of a pipe dream for me to ever have one in my kitchen, because the freakin' things are like $10 grand because need a wilter filtration system installed in your house. The little mini-espresso bars that they have for sale just don't cut it. |

Absolutely, my new favorite. 1 QT of store-bought plain low-fat yogurt = $3.49 1 QT of 2% fat milk = $1.19 Above turns in to 1QT of plain low-fat yogurt (for the same price <3) with in just the same amount of time it takes for me to do 2 loads of laundry and take a nap. No frequent stirring or checking (except when initially heating the milk) needed. <3 Can't beat that. :tpg: |

I've also made smoothies and stuff when i bring fruit and yogurt from home. And the guys in the restaurant next door come over and use them to make their soups and sauces once in a while. Blendtecs are pretty much amazing. |
Isn't that the thing that can grind down marbles and whatnot?

I dunno about you guys, but I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have one of these:

I've been using this sort of thing hardcore since I was about ten or so. God I love squeezing limes with this. |
Love my panini press/grill. That egg cuber is the funniest thing ever! I am going to look for one. Definately a coversation starter!

Ice cream maker is cool, but somehow it's far more convenient just to buy ready to eat ice cream.
About yoghurt maker, i tried to make it once but only using milk, starter, metal bowl, and continuously poured warm water. I don't know whether it worked or not since the consistency turned out to be very thick, but i think it was fine since i didn't got any diarrhoea :D |
