I guess Entertainment and everything that has to do with high society, i.e. which kind of hat Paris Hilton is wearing today or which man Britney Spears just slept with and shit like that. I don't know why, but seriously this is making me aggressive sometimes. In Africa, people are starving and we have nothing better to do than caring about the haircolor or the sexual relationship of our beloved stars.

I could care less about politics and law. It seems to me that more time is wasted talking than actually implementing stuff. So, I don't care to hear about conferences and what people plan to do. I'll pay attention when stuff is actually done.

Sports

I could care less what player got switched into this team and so on. I like playing sports, but I just don't like talking about it or hearing about it.

Water_Rain Jan 3, 2007 09:11 PM

Sports and Entertainment. I'm not a huge sports fan to begin with, so I don't really see the point. And Entertainment, well, I just don't care.

ORLY Jan 4, 2007 12:50 AM

The only parts of the newspaper that I read are the frontpage stories (yes I'm a shallow man), the national news, international news, stuff about science/technology, and comics/sudoku. The same applies for reading news online (without the comics and sudoku). I stopped watching TV years ago.

If you wanted to know which parts of the news I cared the least about, it would be sports followed closely by entertainment (there is the occasional movie that I'm interested in).

Ceft Jan 4, 2007 09:29 AM

Eh, I don't really care for any news. I'm indifferent to what I watch on the news cause I don't really care about any of it (though I have to agree that entertainment is the most boring). Lately, however, I been getting fed up on how much time they dedicate to Gerald Ford's death. I mean, yes, we know he died and that he is getting mourned; now get over it. People die all over the world every day and do you see so much hype for everyone of them? While I know he was a US President, it's not like he was elected or anything.

Lol, this is a rant now. I'll stop.

I voted entertainment as I watch the news for most of the rest of the stuff (usually).

I don't care about celebrity gossip or how much a movie made its first week.

"Britney broke up with Kevin? Okay that's great, what's the weather like outside."

YokaN Jan 5, 2007 03:27 AM

Politics n Law..!!
Its really boring.. dont even really understand about law..

JackyBoy Jan 5, 2007 12:43 PM

I want to say the whole bloody lot but I guess that doesn't really answer the question properly. For me it would be between entertainment and sports with sports nudging ahead. At least in entertainment there's a chance, however small that may be, they'll give a 5 second spot to something other than celebrity gossip. People who watch sports however may as well just watch the stock market instead. It's essentially the same thing. A bunch of numbers and statistics marque'ing across a jumbo screen.

Almost every night I show up to work there's the same group of guys talking about last night's game and every time I try to follow what they're saying all I hear is, "blah blah blah goober goober".

ramoth Jan 5, 2007 01:45 PM

I really think this poll is pooly worded -- I'll bet a lot of people voted for Entertainment because they saw CELEB GOSSIP OH HO I HATE THAT.

What about movie reviews? I find those to be very interesting and rewarding. I think Celeb Gossip should have been in its own category.

Bolide Jan 8, 2007 10:36 AM

From time to time, I don't mind tuning into some sports, but I rarely have an interest in hearing about it on a news station when I could just as easily flip over to ESPN to get the same information. I mean, I don't turn to ESPN when I want to get the weather; similarly, I don't turn to CNN wanting to know whether or not the Gators won the national championship.

I really don't mind hearing about entertainment all that much, just as long as it's not centered around their lives. I'd rather hear about recent movies reviews or similar topics of entertainment. A very brief segment on entertainment is fine I suppose.

Business.

While celeb gossip is definitely a force of shit in the world, inadvertently catching a report now and then might equip me for any run-ins I might have with the female office lifeform. Business news won't ever tell me anything I'll be able to put to use.

Acro-nym Jan 8, 2007 12:38 PM

I can't really vote. The only part of news I like is weather. It's too tough for me to pick a least favorite...

SonicEchidna Jan 8, 2007 07:29 PM

Politics and Law. It bores me, and quite frankly, I couldn't give a shit about it.

SpaceOddity Jan 9, 2007 01:28 AM

Definitely Sports, with Business coming in at a close second. At least Weather is useful, because it's nice to know if I'm going to be walking around in pouring rain the following day. LOL.

Wojo Jan 10, 2007 11:28 AM

Business more than anything else. I don't care if the Dow Jones took a 3 point loss over the weekend. One of the reasons why I slept through economics in high school.

GarretThe Thief Jan 10, 2007 11:36 AM

for me it was a toss up between sports and business. I just plain don't like sports and there's nothing worth reading in the business area for me right now. in a few years maybe but.

LordsSword Jan 10, 2007 07:18 PM

I could care less about celebrity gossip or entertainment in general. In fact I don't like watching TV. Sure it put me in a place when people say "you have never heard of such & such?" I just reply "sorry I'm an artist, I'm on my own planet most of the time." Its true.

Yunnie Jan 11, 2007 07:39 AM

Politics and Law.
I just don't want to see any of those politicians' faces. Policians = Liars.
