I like the idea of LifeGem. I'm big on remembrance, legacy and lineage. I think leaving a concrete example of lineage would be awesome. The idea of a family choker, for instance, fashioned from the remains of 10 generations makes me yearn.

Cremated, but I do like the idea of being turned into a gemstone, my real name is Crystal, so it would be kinda neat to be one after I go.

I don't know, I was thinking of being chriogenically frozen so when they create some crazy ressurect the dead potion they can use it on me. If not, I guess I'd just be buried like most other peopel.

I think the Gem idea is really narcissistic, not to mention selfish. Maybe your relatives don't want to wear you after you've gone, ever thought about that? It's bad enough wearing Grans knitted jumpers just to please her, without also having to wear her crystalised remains.

If I'm rich enough I'm going to be frozen so they can bring me back in the future. If I'm not rich enough I'll ask one of my grand kids if they've got room in their fridge-freezer.

Taxidermy.

Alternatively I guess I could go for the whole glass-coffin-in-a-public-place thing.

a hole in the ground for me please....when the time comes

I'm not into the whole cremated thing. I don't like seeing a human body turned into nothing but dust. I prefer burials.

When I die, I want my body donated to scientific/medical purposes, for medical students to work on my cadaver - for science!. Watch some student totally fuck up with the scalpel.

Oric Dec 29, 2006 10:07 PM

Mine's going to be involved.

First, a ship. Preferably a pirate ship. Most definitely not a cruise ship or oil barge. My body will be on it, as will all my worldly possessions (unless I have a family, then they will be left to them). It will also be loaded down with fireworks of the most impressive sort, and then the whole thing will be covered with oil. It will be launched out to sea.
On shore, will be anyone that cares (with film crews, in case I'm important). There will be a 300 person orchestra, with a 300 person choir. They will play Requiem Mass. I'm not Catholic, but I don't care. After that, they will play Berlioz's Requiem.
Then, there will be a line of archers, with wooden bows and wooden arrows, and the arrows will be lit, and shot in the air at the boat. Lots of archers will be required so we don't have to wait for an hour for the boat to be hit.

It will be glorious.

when I kick the bucket I want my body placed in a boat, my body adorned with leather armor, and a sword place on my chest. I want the boat to be doused in flammable liquid then set off in a lake, then I want a single fire arrow to light the boat and cremate me.
messed up, I know.

failing that, I wouldn't mind being cremated normally, but then having my ashes stored in a server's computer case or something in a little canister or being buried with my missus or something..

Shorty Dec 30, 2006 09:52 PM

Cremation is my choice. It's the most environmental friendly and takes up less space, although the lifegem idea is intriguing but seems a bit too ridiculously priced for someone my class.

Frank91 Jan 3, 2007 10:49 AM

Definitely be buried, I don't want to be burned or anything like that.

The Wise Vivi Jan 3, 2007 12:09 PM

Cremated. Got to save space for development, and be a little more environmental. I mean, what if the graveyard someday fell into the river?
