This sounds like PC crap so that he can't sue, but since when do we have a right to KFC? That's not a "right" at all... it's a luxery. Too many people don't understand the difference these days.

It's another of those idiotic things the law likes to do, similair to other feats of stupidity such as burglers being able to sue their victims if they get injured, etc. They shouldn't have done it, that way he'd come down eventually out of hunger. It's his own damn fault for being up there in the first place.

I don't see why the idjits didn't just pop something into the chicken to put him to sleep. Of course he's not gonna accept an open soda can. It's OBVIOUS that its been messed with. That's like running up to a deer trying to shoot it with an elephant gun while screaming at the top of your lungs. Common sense says to put something in the chicken to knock him out, then scoop him. Hell, if you wanna be anal about it, it shouldnt have even gotten to that point to begin with.
