I thought that Forest of Illusion and Wagon Tracks were very good pieces, while the whole soundtrack in general was a step forward for him. |
- Unstolen jewel - Xenogears
It's the best of his work and my all time fav song and scene as well. - Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World - Chrono cross It's the best world map theme. It's really great that I stall my charactor about 10 min to listen to it.:) - Star stealing child - Chrono cross No word for it, I just love this song. Anyway, why he didn't compose Xenosaga EP 2? and what's his latest project? |
Xenogears? and maby some chrono cross
|
Ah, there's too much!!!
First in Chrono Trigger, there is the Boss battle music, Lavos' Theme, Chrono Trigger Theme, Dark Omen, Boss Battle 2, Schala's Theme, Frog's Theme, and the Lavos Battle music (first part). Chrono Cross: Time's Scar, Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World, Frozen Flame, Dragon God, Start Stealing Girl Xenogears: Fuse, Steel Giant, (the other battle theme whcih I forgot the title), Grahf Emperor of the Darkness, Tsugunai also has great music, mainly the victory music and many other tracks. Xenosaga: (my favorite): Gnosis, U-Tic Foundation, Prologue, Battle, Battle End, Zarathustra, The Miracle, Omega (Great track!), Escape. And lately, a more jazzy album on Moonlit Shadow: It has great tracks. A different kind of Mitsuda but if you like jazz, you'll llike this. |
Tsugunai - Battle 3 - great celtic asanoganawa this song is!
Chrono Trigger - Zeal's Theme - gotta love that fuchi koma action in this song. |
I'm a definite fan of Balto and Small of Two Pieces from Xenogears, Time's Scar from Chrono Cross, World Revolution from Chrono Trigger and (definitely my favourite of his works) Far Promise from Radical Dreamers.

Xenosaga has my favorite soundtrack from a video game of all time, and many of my faves were mentioned: Gnosis, Final Battle, Zarathustra, The Miracle, Omega, and of course Pain and Kokoro. Chrono Cross: Dream of the Shore in Another World, Radical Dreamers, Dream's Creation. Pretty much the whole soundtrack from both of these. He's my favorite video game composer.

I think "Twilight Street" from Shadow Hearts 2 is one of the best town themes of all time. The Near Death Experience arranged version is amazing as well, it sometimes gives me a Chrono Trigger vibe too (near the middle of the song, I think it's the kind of flute instrument).

Chrono Trigger has my favorite Mitsuda pieces.
The 'main theme' and 'Secret of the Forest' comes to mind but the entire soundtrack is splendid. |
[Chrono Cross] "Forest of Cutting Shadows": I love to listening it at night. This mystic touch and melody hitted me great. Much thanks to the one who nominated it at BSC 2006!
[Chrono Trigger] "Robo's Theme": A typical "Go and have a happy mood!" song. :D [Chrono Trigger] "Undersea Palace": Unusual style but really rocks. And a few more... |
Everything from Kirite is excellent, but I especially love "Fated Encounter - The Fall of Darkness". It may be my all-time favorite piece by Mitsuda.

He's done a lot of great work. I like an cinnuit. I believe that's how it is written.

Favorite piece? Hard, but it's probably either "Lullaby of Spring" from CREID or "The Name of Our Hope" from kiRite. Not just my favorites from Mitsuda, but probably of all songs ever. Both are vocal pieces which turn some people off from the start, but for me both singers really make the songs shine. Of course, it's the combination of their voices and the music that produces the masterpiece of a result.
Other outstanding tracks: Tsugunai - Early Afternoon in the Village - when the bagpipes come in, it's heavenly kiRite - The Market in Volfinor - the beginning is wonderful and the ending is so uplifting and nostalgic at the same time CREID album - pretty much anything, sheesh. Um, BALTO, DAJIL and CREID are all particularly spectacular I couldn't get into Moonlit Shadow nor Hako no Niwa at all, unfortunately. I recently found another Mitsuda song on iTunes US of all places, Ten Plants 2's "Silver Leica," which I understand to be a type of camera. Anyway, this is another song he collaborated with Noriko Mitose on. The album is children's songs, and it sounds like it could have come from Hako no Niwa with the sweet music and Mitose's childlike vocals. |
