Geez, i put in 0 and it tells me I am the richest person in the world. Sadness...
|
Ah, you're probably right on that. TV seems only to be showing the richer people - seldom to poorer or the middle class which makes everyone feel poor.

You are the 17,844,901 richest person in the world! You're in the TOP 0.29%
richest people in the world! My dads income lol, althought sadly in sweden that aint much. |
What's being rich anyways? The ability of buying 2 Bentley cars in a row only to get home and feel empty because your friends are bought and everyone around you is only there for convenience?
Hell I really hope not to become rich, ever. |
Since I'm just a (relatively) poor college student I used my dad's income and he was 31,810,525 richest person in the world or top 0.53% richest people in the world. I wonder what his excuse for not paying my college tuition is now. :annoyed:

My math is probably a bit off, but wow I'm higher then I thought:

Given I make (very roughly) $10,000/yr as a student, that puts me at...
You are the 798,928,823 richest person in the world! You're in the TOP 13.31% richest people in the world! Now, a comparison to the rest of the United States with this graph would be far more useful. |
I put in 0.00001 US dollars,. and I got:
"You are the richest person in the world! You're in the richest people in the world! ' Apart from the bad grammar, what the hell? ALso, the highest you can get is 107,565th in the world. Even putting in $9999999999999999, which is earning more than a billion dollars per second, you get 107,565th in the world. |
It's some stupid site made by some equally stupid hippies. Why is everyone getting worked up about this?
It's not using actual comparisons, it's modeling it. That graph rabicle posted shows the main problem with their model: There's an asymptote at the richest person So apparently, according to them, you can never be the richest person in the world. Which is why when Isthmus put in billions of dollars a second, it still only approaches the edge (lol defenition of an asymptote). Seriously, these sites pop up all the time, why are people getting concerned? |
What determines wealth isn't necessarily just how much money you have from your income.
It's income versus expenditures, debt to asset ratio and buying power (available credit). Alot of people in Southern California have middle of the road incomes, but have a rather healthy debt to asset ratio (if they purchased a home in the last 10 to 15 years) and mediocre buying power. I have a steady income that makes me self-sufficient, but there's not much room for savings. I've also got a negative debt to asset ratio. I'm technically below the poverty line, but I don't feel that because I have a cushion (being that I am in the military). I would be in poor shape if I was a civilian, right now. |
I had to put in a rough estimate.
I have no income, cause i'm a student... but estimating my parents... top 0.4%... thats crazy. |
Deleted because discovered my own stupidity.
