Yeah, the Japanese version has english an English translation.

Xardion Mar 10, 2006 03:46 AM

If the jap version has English already in it, I should import it for nerd points.

CloudNine Mar 10, 2006 02:21 PM

If I wanted to import a japanese copy, would it cost me less than 50 dollars like one on ebay will?

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Mar 10, 2006 02:53 PM

Probably not. After the shipping from Play-Asia, it would run you about the same amount, possibly a little more.

Tails Mar 10, 2006 03:35 PM

Depends on if you want to wait a little bit. EMS (3-4 days usually) costs around $10-15 dollars usually, but the other delivery methods aren't as much.

Double Post:
Also, apparenrly Phoenix Wright 2 and 3 are coming to the PC.

Can anybody here read French?

I wonder if it comes with an English translation option like the DS version of Ace Attorney did.

I can speak some French, so I'll try it out. It's got some mistakes, but you get the basic idea:

For fans of the lawyer Phoenix Wright: on March 31st, Gyakuten Saiban 2 and 3 are being released for the PC, three months after the first remake. The two games will each cost 2970 yen, a fairly high price considering they're ports of Gameboy Advance games. The site(?) Sourcenext has said that there will be a pack of all three games, for 6980 yen. We still don't have information on whether the series will continue on DS, after the critical success of the first remake. (I think it's "critical success", but it seems like a negative connotation for some reason).

The new production of the USA version of Phoenix Wright has shipped from Capcom and NCS expects to restock the game on Monday (March 13, 2006). We will process and dispatch all backorders once the game arrives and new orders are welcome. Please note that the price being charged from suppliers is slightly higher than the original shipment. As such, the price is now US$35. If you have already placed a backorder for the game at the original price of US$30, NCS will honor your preorder at US$30. Thanks for reading.

Is this a reprint? Months after it should have been done? At a higher price? Because that sounds like a typical Capcom type move. Or is this a MYSTERY?

PGC was as excited as anyone when we heard such reports, and so we went right to the source, hoping to make sure the claim was true. A Capcom representative told us, though, that the game isn’t even sold out, and thus, would not receive a re-release.

So what can you do if your local retailer doesn’t have a copy? Pester them until they reorder, says Capcom.
Oh dear, it's part mystery, part 'Capcom is demented'.
lool NES, you kept the text in your sig! <3

Nice European cover!

WraithTwo Mar 13, 2006 12:10 PM

Meh, some people on GameFaqs say there store has restocked it, and with the reports I got from the local stores, I'd believe it.

Gechmir Mar 13, 2006 12:17 PM

Mother. Fuckers.

I blew $60 just a month ago for my copy and the box looks like shit... >_< **sigh** Capcom, you piss me off yet again.

At least this'll up the odds of future ones coming out here.

Only plus is that I have the original box and art. But the plastic cover has gunk all over it. Time for a switcharoo on boxes! LOLOLOL.

I doubt I'll get $60 for it though... ;_;

Sounds like they want the clerk to stab me in the face for bothering them.

Gamespot posted an article about this too.

Phoenix Wright ordered back in stores
Hard-to-find courtroom DS game being restocked in retail; Capcom says decision was made based on "demand."

Gamers and lawyers don't always have the best relationships. However, one barrister appears to have won the affection of DS owners enough to see him get a second chance in stores. Capcom's Phoenix Wright enjoyed a short stint in retail before its stock ran low and its supply wasn't replenished. Some gamers screamed "objection!" at the lack of copies of the game, which was first released on the DS in October.

Supply and demand can do tricky things to a game's price, and soon the game began appearing on online auction sites with a price tag nearly triple the $29.99 SRP.

Much to the chagrin of secondhand retailers, Capcom has responded to gamers' appeals and decided to bring Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney back to stores. A Capcom representative today told GameSpot that the company is shipping more units and that gamers "interested in purchasing a copy should check with their store," implying that Internet reports that the game is now back in stores are true.

As of press time, online retailers EBgames.com and GameStop.com did not have the game in stock. However, some forum posters have claimed to see the game in stores again as well as on online retail site NCS for $35.

In Phoenix Wright, gamers investigate crime scenes and defend clients in the courtroom. For more information on the T-for-Teen-rated game, read GameSpot's verdict.

I like how Capcom listened to fan emails for once.

Little Shithead Mar 14, 2006 06:37 PM

OH SHIT.

If I can't find Wario Ware Touched! any time soon, I'm so gonna have to pick up Pheonix Wright then.

It will be mine!

Sarmoti Mar 16, 2006 04:38 PM

I managed to get Trauma Center but failed at getting PW.

Look's like I'ma gonna get my second chance.

Trance Machina Mar 23, 2006 01:05 AM

I sorta wish I didn't borrow it from my friend.

Oh well, I still have case four and five to go through. But at least I could have taken my time on the other cases, I finished them way to quick so says my friend.

The translation of Gyakuten Saiben 3 is great. It's a shame he only did Case 1 so far, but the fact he's working on it alone (or so I read) probably is the reason why he got that far. Can't wait for the other cases though, I really enjoyed the first case. =D

Snowgoose Apr 5, 2006 08:02 AM

Amazon has the PC version of Gyakusai up for order already (but not for foreigners. How I hate that policy) but there's not a word from Capcom about it. Hmmm...different publishers? I would've expected an annoucement on Capcom's site or one of their Gyakusai pages, though...

*is one of those oddballs who would pay to play with a mouse*

Conan-the-3rd Apr 11, 2006 11:58 AM

Oh man, got the EUR version with my DS and Got thruogh Cases 1 and 2 without much trouble.

But oh man, is case 3 some of the funniest crap that I've ever read in a video game.

(Whilst it's not too imporitant, some people might want this covered, It's for case 3: Turnabout Samurai)
Spoiler:
I meen, even Edgeworth doesn't know where he's going, and after Oldbag goes and shouts up the places and the themesong of the Silver Samurai plays and all the sounds are replaced...man, I was on the floor.

Neogin Apr 11, 2006 02:11 PM

Wait until you reach Case 5. It's almost as long as the other four combined, >_<

But still, it was worth it in the end. DAMN, I love the game.

Conan-the-3rd Apr 12, 2006 01:43 AM

But is it funnier than case 3, cause case 3's been friging halerious so far.

randomwab Apr 12, 2006 07:39 AM

Umm, I have laughed a good number of times in Case 5, I think it will rival Case 3 in comedy

Rockgamer Apr 12, 2006 03:59 PM

Case 5 has so many quirky new characters, along with a lot of the older ones, that I thought it supassed case 3 comedy-wise.

Neogin Apr 12, 2006 05:36 PM

The fourth one, in my opinion, has the best storyline. It's outstanding.

You were not lying, I literally played that Case an hour or so last night and all day today which was over a good 6 or 7 hours, hell i'd say longer, but yeah it was totally worth it, any news on a 2nd game in the works?

HOLD IT! Actually, supposedly it will be a new PW:AA for Cell Phone, NOT a translation. So in other words, we get some Super Mario Bros 2 action going on here again...

And yes, Case 3 was hilarious. I just finished it last night and going on to Case 4.
