Peanut butter and jelly (every day through 7 years of middle school and high school), grilled cheese (at least once a week nowadays), and spaghettios (probably also a once-weekly occurance). Spaghettios with meatballs, of course.

I don't quite understand this thread. Foods that I didn't grow out of? Versus what, foods I did grow out of? Strained peas. I grew out of those fairly quickly. And zweiback toast. I haven't had that ever since I grew teeth. I guess I still eat popsicles. I just don't rub them all over my hands and hair first. I sort of stopped having apple juice at snacktime, so maybe that counts. But if I was thirsty and that's all there was, I'd still drink it today. So I haven't really grown out of juice at all. I just don't drink it as often because I'm allowed to have other things now.

I think that if I stopped eating any food, it's only because I was once forced to eat that food by my parents, such as brussel sprouts, and was never really "into" that food in the first place, certainly not enough to "grow out of it".

Perhaps when I'm old and can no longer chew my own meals, I'll have grown out of things like steak, corn-on-the-cob and chicken wings. But it's too soon to make that call.

Seeing as you can buy chocolate pudding for infants, I think it's pretty safe to say that I never grew out of that. Or any flavor of pudding really. Pudding is one of those ageless foods, kinda like Twinkies.

Little Brenty Brent Brent Nov 29, 2006 06:41 PM

Though whereas pudding is figuratively ageless, Twinkies are so quite literally.

So are french fries. Blech.

For foods I did grow out of, I would say Chef Boyardee Ravioli and mayonnaise sandwiches (um...ew?). And those abysmally disgusting kid's tv dinners that I would always beg my mom for then not finish because they were gross. :P

mayonnaise sandwiches! what the hell were we thinking.
I also grew out from eating pure chocolate. I can't eat it unless it has some sort of peanuts or something but even then I rarely eat chocolate

Ayos Nov 30, 2006 06:54 PM

I'm with Chie. Chocolate without any sort of crunchies or crispeties is just too.... chocolate.

I've never grown out of macaroni and cheese. For some godforsaken reason, I will ALWAYS love mac & cheese - and I'm talking the cheap, straight-from-the-box, western family brand mac, complete with unnaturally-colored cheese powder.

Every once in a while I'll spice it up with some tuna or hot dog slices, but it's all good, all by itself.

If I ever outgrow chocolate, shoot me. FAST. Because if I reach that point, there must not be anything left to live for.

It's this beef stew that my mom makes. Everytime I eat a bowl, there's always room for seconds.

Rat Dec 5, 2006 07:05 PM

Lucky Charms and fruit snacks(DINOSAURS AND SHARKS AND GUSHERS, OH MY XD)!

Chaotic Dec 5, 2006 09:47 PM

I'll never grow out of chocolate pudding. Always a good snack, and tasty. I love pizza and mac and cheese also. Reasons unknown, but i'll eat them any day.

Chie Dec 5, 2006 09:58 PM

jello
We uses to make a pot full and eat a cup at a time. I never get tired of it.

BlueEdge Dec 18, 2006 01:48 AM

Man, I don't get it, but I've never really liked KD. But man, Sodalicious...mmm

Foods I have yet to grow out of:
Sashimi
Raw Eggs + Rice + Soy Sauce
Corn Soup
Cheesecake
Milk Coffee (basically sweetened warmed milk with a little bit of instant coffee in it)

Foods I have grown out of:
Really sugary sweet desserts (i.e., pie + ice cream after dinner hasn't felt all that appealing to me lately)
Lucky Charms (used to love that cereal as a kid)
Waffles (used to be favorite breakfast; now I'd rather have an omelette)

Foods I have recently grown to:
Red Meat (yeah, not much of a steak lover to begin with, but been getting used to it the last couple years.)
Stuff that goes well with Sake -- i.e., japanese pickles, squid, dried fish, canned fish. (Oddly enough I figured everything that goes well with Sake goes pretty much well with Rice too, which I will probably never grow out of, so go figure.)

Yggdrasil Dec 21, 2006 11:36 PM

Beef Jerky. Each time I buy that stuff before I know it its all gone. Hasn't been an instance in my entire life where a bag of the stuff has made it through the night (barring parental intervention of course). There is also large amounts of potato based products I have yet to grow out of.

Helloween Dec 22, 2006 03:21 PM

Apperantly pizza was one of my first solid foods, and i have yet to get sick of it to this day. I'll eat almost anything on a pizza, save for certain veggies. There are also many things i'll put on pizza that i won't eat on their own, e.g. tomatos.

I expect to be a pizza lover for many years to come, or at least i hope.

Fiddlegoof Dec 25, 2006 12:25 AM

When I was little, I was absolutely obsessed with squash, and still am today. Now and then I also enjoy a good honey and honey nut cheerios sandwich.

crabman Dec 27, 2006 03:15 AM

Guys guys, Curry.

It doesn't matter who you are; or what country you come from. You enjoy curry. How do I know this? Indian curry gives me horrible diarrhea 90% of the time i eat it; and i'm still willing to shovel it down my throat like my life depended on it.

But really; there are waaaaay to many diffrent types of curries for someone to actually say they don't enjoy any type of curry.

parKbench Feb 4, 2007 08:34 PM

I don't know how many of you out there will know what I am talking about, but my favorite as a child and still like today is White Castle hamburgers. They are cheap as hell, too. You can get a bag of 10 burgers for about $5.00!

....and drum roll, please....pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll in the morning!

yuna00 Feb 15, 2007 10:34 PM

sad to say it...white rice. lol. well, that and chocolate chip cookies, and stir-fry my mom makes. yummy! :p

Muzza Feb 16, 2007 01:25 AM

There're many things I could list, but the one which I find most (sad?) joy in eating is different childish cereals. Covered in sugar, yes. Tasty, yes. Bonus nostalgic feeling, yes...healthy? Hell no.

y 'ello thar frosties (Frosted Flakes).

HazelGuy Feb 16, 2007 02:24 AM

Coco Pops and frozen peas. I used to hate peas as a kid, so dad told me to have them frozen if I didn't like them cooked....and they were delicious. I've been eating frozen peas as a snack for going on 18 years now.

chibilola Feb 23, 2007 01:56 PM

Foods I'll never grow out of:
-Lettuce/Cabbage salad w/ponzu
-Ramen, instant or handmade
-Rice
-KIXs (as in the creal, I miss my berry kixs)
-baked potatos
-MEAT

Foods I've grown out of:
Nothing really. I probably eat less Pizza, I'm kinda sick of it from my boyfriend getting it like 5 times a week. I've never liked sweet things like cake and chocolate. I still don't like much of bell peppers and I still love my japanese foods.

I think I got some more grown' to do, I still like what I love, and still don't eat what I hate. haha

SonicEchidna Apr 23, 2007 05:26 PM

Cereal is possibly the only food that I've never grown out of. I also loved raisins when I was a kid, and still do today.

And Golden Grahams. THE nicest cereal I have ever tasted BAR none.

=o So I'm not the only one! Everyone I know thinks I'm really weird for eating peas frozen.

Megaman X Apr 24, 2007 12:44 AM

Frozen peas? That sounds like something I should give a try! I do like frozen grapes. They are pretty good.

Bologna. The oscar meyer kind. I hate to admit but I do love it. Hot Pockets I enjoy, too. I'm sure Jim Gaffigan would get a kick out of me.

I don't eat as much candy as I used to. If I eat a sweet, it will be in cake or pie form usually.
